Backpacking around the Southern side of Europe, starting in Venice Italy and aiming to end up in Greece. With my Guitar and sense of Adventure, I hope to meet other young travellers such as myself!

  • Descripción

Hey! I'm a 19 year old adventurer on a gap year, enjoying freedom before starting an Engineering Apprenticeship in September. Recently moved back to England after living in Brunei for 14 years. Craftsman at heart, life-long traveller, and jungle lover.

    Currently backpacking around Europe
    [23/4/25 - 20/6/25]

Travelling is one of the first things I knew, being stuffed into my dad's child carrier since practically the moment I got my passport. I was born and raised in the tropical paradise of Brunei, Borneo, and lived there all my life until my parents whisked our family away on an adventure, travelling the world for a year. To date, it is the best thing I have done in my life, and for every place I visited, I wanted to explore two more!

I love woodcraft & woodworking, setting things on fire (in a safe manner!), playing guitar, bouncing crazy ideas off others and meeting as many interesting people along the way as I can!

I'm still fresh on Workaway, having done only a handful to date, so I don't have much of a reputation thus far, but I hope in time it will grow as I do, and I look forward to discovering (even more!) of the world!

I've picked up a smattering of Spanish, Malay, French, and Japanese, but my vocabulary extends at best to 'Hello' and 'Thank you' in most cases. I can speak fluent Mandarin Chinese with the vocabulary I know (if I've practised recently), and I'm open to learning any new languages as I encounter them. I love being able to speak the local language, as it lets me connect more to the people and place, and makes it an all the more enjoyable experience, but bear with me when I make a fool of myself trying out new words!

  • Que habilidades tienes?

A Craftsman at heart, I strive for quality in all I make, especially with my hands.

I have experience ranging from small-scale construction work to DIY projects, woodworking and more! I love discovering new beautiful species of wood, so don't be surprised if you find me rummaging around in a firewood pile....

Anything you need me to do, odd jobs around the house, cooking, etc. I'd be happy to help! If its something I can't do yet, I'm eager to learn how!

I work well with small children, having spent lots of time around them through young cousins, babysitting and helping my mother in her lessons as a Primary school PE teacher. I am energetic, but can also calm them down when needed, and I'm great at playing silly games and making them laugh. If you have Lego lying around, I love helping build from the imagination, a key part every childhood should have!

I can communicate effectively, expressing my thoughts, feelings and ideas openly, and I've often used my Bi-lingual abilities to help out with translation as needed.

I have a diverse range of hobbies that taught me all sorts of interesting, albeit sometimes impractical, skills, such as juggling, painting, circus tricks, embroidery and much more!

  • Algo más...

Its really hard to encapsulate yourself into words, but I'll give it my best shot:

A self-professed pyromaniac, my free time alternates between setting things on fire (safely of course), playing tunes on my lovely guitars, cracking terrible dad jokes, or tinkering away at a project in the shed with my tools.

I come from a line of Engineers and Carpenters and woodworking is my life-long love, so I'm down for any hands on activities or projects -- the trickier the problem to solve, the better!

I come from a loving family of 4, with an older sister who is also out exploring the world, and we are extremely close thanks to many adventures shared together. Being born and raised in the Tropics of Borneo gave me quite the interesting childhood, though I've found that returning as a young adult/late teen life has so much more to offer -- It's not everywhere in the world you can walk into the local corner store with a machete around your waste! (They're called Parangs, and all the locals use them, especially in the rainforest).

My ideal evening would be a sunset bonfire on the beach, preferably with some marshmallows and sausages to roast in the embers, and perhaps a guitar song or two to pass the time.
