*Thank you for visiting our profile! Before you read any further please have a read of the following*
- We have listed our property as requiring last minute assistance because we are currently harvesting our saffron and this is a great job to have help with!
- Whilst we love vegan and vegetarian food we do not practice this way of eating and often have local meat and dairy in our meals.
- We currently need help with general gardening work such as weeding, lawn mowing, establishing an autumn garden, planting seedlings, moving plants, planting saffron, painting and so on.
We have a small lifestyle property surrounded by larger farms in the beautiful Central Otago.
Our property is rural but only 5 minutes drive from our local cafe and the river.
We are also close to lots of New Zealand attractions such as St Bathans, Naseby, Queenstown etc.
We expect that after the required workaway hours are completed that you will go and explore these beautiful sights! We also want you to feel welcome to relax and rest but please understand that the children are always around and if you're home they will want you to bounce on the trampoline with them!
Our family includes two adults and two children (3 & 6) plus a cat. We also have a small flock of sheep, chickens, calves, geese and ducks.
We are building up the vegetable garden and planting as many fruit trees as we can. Unfortunately this year hasn't been very successful for us as we were away for 5 weeks when everything needed to be tended to! We always have plenty of potatoes, garlic, leafy greens etc in the garden.
Over the last few years we have been building up our saffron farm business and this work usually happens at the end of summer/during autumn. It is a small operation but growing and we love our little harvest!
Dan is a high school teacher and I am a midwife but not currently working. The dream for our land is to be mostly self sustainable and as natural as possible.
We used to live in Queenstown and miss being around people from other cultures, we love hosting and making new friends. Our children really enjoy the interactions they have with our wonderful workaway friends and we are very grateful for all the experiences that we have had!

Our property is in a beautiful location that will allow you access to many gorgeous sights to see. We have good knowledge of the area and can recommend places to go.

Ayuda
We are looking for help with general gardening, and maintenance around the house. Nothing too strenuous, just odd jobs such as working on our no dig veggie garden, mowing the grass, building a wood store etc.

Our spare bedroom is in our home, it has a queen bed and the bathroom is shared with us.
We live on only one income so we do not have a lot but what we do have is local and usually organic. We are happy to share as long as it is reasonable.
