What a help Ion was! One evening he simply showed up at my door, we had a good chat, and the very next day he started working and stayed for three weeks. I couldn't have wished for better support, and during his time with me, we accomplished so many projects. Ion is very detail-oriented, takes his time to ensure everything turns out well, is motivated to work and get things done, and, in my case, with mostly manual tasks, is also extremely talented. I also learned a lot from Ion on a personal level; he has a calm yet very warm personality and is mindful and conscious of himself and others. I am very grateful for the time I spent with Ion and can highly recommend him to all hosts! Thank you so much for your help!

We had the privilege to host Patrick for a full week. Patrick is an outstanding workawayer. He is a great guy, very kind and very friendly. He demonstrated his willingness in helping in DIY. Great skills. It was a hard work. Patrick has a very good level in French language. We had very interesting discussions on various topics. We thank you Patrick for your great help and for your kindness. We fully recommend you and of course it will be a great pleasure to see you again at Toulouse or Edinburgh!! Take care

Just realized we haven’t left feedback for our stay last year in August :) we had an amazing time with Tove&Urban at their little goat farm. Our job was mostly helping to build a wired fence around the garden to help keep the dogs from running off when off leash (sweetest dogs btw). We also cleaned the goat stable every morning, which was a good workout :) as we had to cut our stay a bit short we only got to help urban milk the goats once, but it would’ve been possible to do it more often (early hours, but beautiful!). Tove also showed both of us how she makes the amazing cheese which we got to eat everyday and which they also sold at local markets and events, which we also got to visit. Tove and Urban are extremely kind, bright, welcoming people, open minded, down to earth and always up for a good chat. They‘re very eager to give their workawayers a good time. We also got to swim in the beautiful river down at the bottom of their land in the evenings with very late sunsets. The little Swedish house we got to call our home for the time was rather rustic, but we liked the charm of it. Looking forward to visiting again some time ! :))

Living with Alexandra and Anca will always be one of my favorite experiences on Earth. They are both incredible hosts, and the place they built and take care of is simply amazing. As a volunteer, your work will probably vary a lot depending on what they are building at the moment, but there's something to do for any skill level. From gardening, to taking care of animals, to helping build new stuff around the yard or helping Anca in the kitchen (in exchange for this, you'll learn the tastiest recipes). Food is plenty, the accommodation is comfortable and there's people constantly visiting this place + lots of things to see in the nearby. Recommend this for anyone wanting to live closer to nature, meet wonderful people and live a simple life, away from the noise of the city. Can't wait to come back! :)

We were very happy to have Silke join us for a few weeks in May 2026. We had a lot of different tasks to get done on the property and she was a great help in getting these completed . Silke is very meticulous and our garden has never looked tidier. There was a lot of work moving and placing compost and mulch in the garden. Silke did very well. We were happy to share some beekeeping tasks and Silke was a natural ! We also, spent a lot of time talking about our cultural similarities and differences and we were happy to learn more about her life in Germany. We wish her good luck in her journey through Canada this year.

I had a wonderful stay with Ivan, Valerie, the magical dogs and the (baby) goats. Super interesting to see the life and beautiful farm they've built and are building! I was particularly interested in working with wood, and got some fun and challenging tasks, "screwed up" a few things for sure, but they were patient and helpful, there was space to learn :) I was the only workawayer at the moment, and this was my first trip through the platform. It took me some time to understand the rhythm of daily life etc. but once I did I felt at ease and comfortable to take initiative. Super grateful for this experience!

Mia was a valuable contributor to our Italian classes. Her enthusiasm, dedication, and positive attitude helped create an engaging learning environment. Students appreciated her support and encouragement throughout the program. Thomas made a great contribution to our English classes. His professionalism, energy, and commitment to helping students improve their English skills had a positive impact on the classroom experience. We are grateful for his support and hard work.

There are not enough words to describe what an amazing experience the farm was. Bishwo, Lena, Nishchal and Raj were all fantastic, caring, kind and good humoured people. Everyday was fun, interesting and yet hard in the most rewarding of ways. The set up was fantastic, from before I arrived, to helping me navigate my way from the airport to assistance with my onward plans. The day to day schedule is very balanced and has the right amount of work, relaxation and entertainment. Bishwo and Lena are also very flexible and want you to have the space to explore Nepal, a country they both obviously adore, and wish for you to do the same. The hostel environment gives you a great opportunity to meet new people on a frequent basis, which helps to keep the day to day engaging and exciting. My only complaint is that I had to go. I will definitely be back soon.

We stayed at the school in kelaa for one week. Overall, we had a great time. The students were what made it special, as they are generally motivated to learn and very excited to speak to someone who's native language they are learning. Moroccan hospitality really showed its true colours through the students, with many of them inviting us to their home to eat. Our accomodation was good. We felt looked after. There were, however, a couple of occasions when the hot water ran out, but Rachid, one of the guides, made sure to fix it as soon as he could (later the same day), which we appreciated. We were lucky enough to share our accomodation with some other great volunteers who were very respectful. Often we would hang out when we all had some free time together. We want to give a special mention to one of the guides in particular, Said, who really made us feel like we stayed much longer than just 1 week. Though he was no longer working at the school during the time we visited, he made sure we felt comfortable. He would take us out every night and show us around the city, taking us to the best food spots. He was super interested in getting to know the volunteers, and had a special gift of bringing people together. One unfortunate thing about our experience was that the school itself was a bit disorganised. It was normal to have classes booked last minute. Often we would have new classes added to our timetable the night before for the next day. While this was told to us at the beginning of our stay - to constantly refresh our timetables - we didn't appreciate this as it was difficult to make plans. Overall, we are very grateful to Abdel, Rachid, Fatima, Said and everyone who has made our experience so special. We hope to see you again soon ☀️

Wow! What an amazing experience. When I arrived by bus, Hassan came to pick me up on his motorbike, and I immediately got to meet some of his many friends. Arriving at his home, the spectacular view of the mountains took my breath away, and the quiet atmosphere is calming in the best possible way. Hassan is a kind, trustworthy and warm person, always willing to help. He cooked amazing food for every meal, with a highlight being berber pizza! When I wanted to cook myself, this was warmly welcomed, with Hassan helping me pick up groceries in Tagounite. There was a lot of freedom. Each day began with Hassan guiding us through some tasks, which we worked on for about 2 hours before the heat made outdoor work impractical. The rest of the day is spent relaxing: on most days we read, made music or talked; on others, we visited Hassan’s garden to enjoy cool water from the well. I also joined Hassan on a trip to the dunes behind Tajin mountain, which was simply phenomenal and would heartily recommend!

Damian is an easy going and intelligent young man. He stayed with us for 2 weeks and helped us out a lot with all types of tasks. Be it heavier work with clay and stone, gardening, transportation, cleaning, he was open to all of it. He even proposed us to make a sketchup drawing of a small natural building we are about to build, which is very helpful and a fantastic skill he has. Apart from all that he also brought some very fun card games to the table during the evenings with which we all had a lot of fun! We are very grateful for your help Damian and wish you a fantastic road ahead!

It was a total delight having Nicole visit my place as a workawayer! She has such a beautiful, calm, easy going energy and was so lovely to have around. She had a great attitude to working in the garden and then took charge of a project doing a huge mural on the side of the house which I totally love. I feel as though I made a lovely friend and hope to see her again in Maleny one day soon! x

What a top experience in a gorgeous location spent with fantastic company! Feel very blessed to have done my first Workaway experience here. Couldn't speak highly enough of our host Maria and her son Ivo! Both very kind, thoughtful and fun to be around. I was very lucky to have another workawayer Liz with me during this time which made the experience even better! The food was genuinely incredible, Maria is a 10/10 cook and the work was varied and enjoyable. Main two jobs were cleaning up the bottom of the olive trees and painting an outdoor verandah along with watering of the plentiful garden and feeding the animals. There's so many beautiful beaches around and Maria gave so many great recommendations to fill in all the free time we had. Maria also took us out for dinner in Villisimius and to a few other places while we were there! Going to miss the great company, food along with the lovely animals - Poldo, Macchia, Margot and Gigi were always nearby for a cuddle during the 2 weeks! If you're planning on visiting Sardegna, I'd highly recommend spending a few weeks with Maria!

I stayed for a short time but I was lucky enough to get to know a calm, beautiful place with a small, family-like team... The hosts are kind and respectful and the work in the garden was mainly not difficult and in good condition.. I would like to mention Sven the gardener who has experience and knowledge and is always happy to share it and explain it to others - thank you for that... I wish them continued success in their project... I recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm place with a family-like team - and the view from there is simply amazing

Yanis, was a very welcome part of this home, he pitched in at meal times and contributed greatly with discussions on life and living well. He worked really hard in the garden, and garage tidy up. He was easy to work with and finished all the tasked asked of him. We had fun traveling to places for him to explore and tracks to walk. He will always be welcome to stay here again.

Janna fitted in right from the start. Even though she stayed with us for only two weeks, I felt comfortable with her from the very beginning. She works very independently and is always up for a chat. If you enjoy open and interesting conversations, she's your girl. We shared many great discussions, and she also makes a wonderful cuppa! Janna is very easy company to have around. She gave us a fantastic start on our shoebox Christmas project by making stuffed cuddly cats and creating patterns for the library bags. Thanks to her sewing machine expertise, I finally got my kaftan and pants made. I received lots of compliments the very first day I wore them out. Janna also happily got stuck into the everyday tasks and was a great help around the house and garden. She approaches everything with dedication and attention to detail. She was also a wonderful support with our local charity work and a lovely companion when I attended ladies' fellowship and church activities. Janna brings commitment, common sense, and discretion to everything she does. I loved hearing about her impressive adventures during her stay. She made time for bushwalking and running and completed a number of hikes, including exploring the Blue Mountains. I wish Janna many more adventures ahead and would happily recommend her to any future host.

I would rate my experience as positive. Nik (the host) is a pleasant, creative person with a liberal outlook, treats the volunteers well, and is very generous. Over the course of two solid weeks, I learned how to mix and lay cement, work with new tools, and work with bamboo. I didn't hike the surrounding jungle trails, but the area is very beautiful. There are lots of monkeys and birds. The volunteer rooms are comfortable, although there is no hot water. Since the resort is located at an elevated level, it can get chilly in the evenings, so I often want to wash my hair in warm/hot water. There can be issues with Wi-Fi (mobile internet doesn't work there), and sometimes it can be down for an entire day, but overall, I didn't encounter any long-term issues (like 2 days or more). I was able to gain not only useful experience working with my hands but also interact with the locals, exchange views and experiences, and sample a variety of local dishes. Volunteers from all over the world come to Nik, so this place is also a great opportunity to meet new people. There's a place to cook food, and there's plenty of space for walking and relaxing on the grounds. I'd say it's an ideal place for one or two weeks, especially since it's close to the capital.

Anushka volunteered with us in May 2026. During her stay she helped with reception work, and in keeping a lively atmosphere at the hostel. She was great at connecting with the rest of the team within a short time span of getting to know each other, and became an integral part of the team really fast. One thing that struck me almost instantly about her is that she is exceptionally intelligent, and is able to grasp and discuss abstract concepts, whilst also having a keen eye on practicalities, which is a rare combination in my view. Overall it was a real pleasure to host her and I wish her all the very best in her future endeavours. And we will be delighted to host her again if the opportunity arises. Highly recommended if you are looking for a dedicated volunteer with a lot of enthusiasm, passion and intellect.

Laura was a delight. She is a charming young woman, bright and articulate, warm and open-minded. We so enjoyed her company. Work wise, she tackled the most boring and tedious of jobs, hand- weeding rock- hard ground, day after day and often chose to work longer hours than expected or required. In addition she was eager to offer help generally . Despite her short stay, Laura became part of the family, sharing life- stories and her famous Brazilian ' Brigadeiros' . We would recommend her highly as a Workawayer and would welcome her back as a friend at any time in the future. Thank you Laura, for all you did. Xx

I had a fabulous time staying with Sylvia for just over a week. If you stay here make sure you're an animal person. Whilst I loved being constantly surrounded by the dogs, sheep, goats, cats, chickens and horses, if you're not comfortable with that it might be quite full on (especially Rex, although he improved so much even during my short stay!). Whenever you sit down expect a dog to be there too. I was also able to go on a lovely hack on Mabel who is such a nice horse. Despite not liking cooking much, Sylvia makes great food, but I took over most evenings cooking from the Nadia Lin book. I definitely recommend trying out her recipes! It was really nice to be able to relax after work, either staying at the house or going to nearby places. It was really easy for me to get my car fixed in Invercargill and drive to the Stewart Island ferry terminal.
