It was my ver first expierience with workaway and I couldnt be happier. Reserva, Marc, Pablo and the little Río are the most loving and caring people and I felt for this small time like a part of the family. They by themselfs are former workawayers and it felt like they are giving what they themself we're once looking by traveling in this manner. They are good human beings and make this world with their sustainable and kind way of living to a better place. Thank you guys a lot! P.S. Rio is the most sweetest little boy. Every person that loves childreen will fall in love.

My three weeks at Frank’s project were truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and comfortable. For most of my stay, I was the only volunteer there, and Frank’s patient, caring, and respectful nature made it easy to feel at home. His passion for improving and nurturing this place is truly inspiring. Seeing what he has created over the years was incredible. Knowing that he built so much of it himself—from the bricks to the structures and furniture—gave me a completely different appreciation for the effort, creativity, and dedication behind every corner of the project. This is not a place for people looking for luxury or convenience. It is a place for those who want to slow down, reconnect with nature, learn new things, and experience a different way of living. Without the distractions of constant internet and modern comforts, I found time for myself, time to reflect, and time to reconnect with what really matters. Life here moves at a different pace. Cooking over a fire, spending time outdoors, and being surrounded by nature helped me become more patient and more present. I left with new skills, valuable lessons, and a renewed appreciation for simple living. The animals were another highlight of my stay. Lilli and Jade, the two kittens Frank rescued, brought so much joy, and the abundance of wildlife, especially the butterflies, made every day feel special. I am incredibly grateful for this experience, for everything I learned, and for the time we shared. If you are looking for an authentic experience close to nature, this is a place I wholeheartedly recommend. I would love to return someday ❤️

Viola was a wonderful guest and volunteer — I’d welcome her back without hesitation. She stayed with me for a month El Médano, Tenerife, and from the very first day she showed initiative and a genuinely helpful attitude. When I needed to clear out a garage quickly upon her arrival, she jumped in without being asked twice — that set the tone for everything that followed. Her main tasks were house and Airbnb cleaning and maintenance, and she handled these with care and consistency. She’s thorough, reliable, and takes pride in leaving spaces in good condition. I also put her digital skills to use: she helped me organize a garage sale, creating the Facebook event, photographing items, and listing everything on Facebook Marketplace and Wallapop. She approached this creatively and competently — the listings looked great. During my first week, an emergency came up and I had to fly out for about 5 days, leaving her in charge of the house and my animals (a cat and a dog). She took this responsibility completely in stride — the animals were happy and well cared for, and the house was in perfect order when I returned. I felt completely at ease leaving everything in her hands. She also drove both my automatic car and manual van — to drop me at the airport and to help move items. She handled both confidently and I had no hesitation leaving my vehicles with her. Beyond the work, Viola is simply a lovely person to have around. She was curious about the island, enthusiastic about authentic local life, happily took surfboards to the beach, and was always up for exploring. Her energy is warm, positive, and easy-going. She respects spaces, boundaries, and house rules naturally — it never felt like something I had to manage or remind her of. Communication with her is effortless. Most importantly, she’s genuinely independent. She doesn’t need hand-holding — she observes, figures things out, and gets on with it. That kind of self-sufficiency is rare and incredibly valuable in a volunteer. Highly recommended. 5 stars.

Bei Ulfhild und Gerhard habe ich zwei Tage/drei Nächte zugebracht und bin ganz wunderbar aufgenommen worden. Wir hatten ganz tolle Gespräche, haben gemeinsam gekocht und gegessen und uns sehr gut kulturell ausgetauscht. Die Arbeit war absolut OK und mit im Schnitt 4h am Tag längst nicht zu viel. Ich habe die zwei Tage als Erholung zu meiner Wanderung sehr genossen.

Sheridan is a wonderful and very generous person. We spent 10 days at her place, and the time flew by. She is full of positive energy, always smiling and very interesting, with a busy and inspiring life. She is also very caring and an excellent cook. Even though our English wasn’t perfect, she always took the time to speak slowly, repeat things, and make sure we understood everything properly. For the work, we mainly walked little Louis and did some gardening in the yard. She is very flexible with schedules, which made it easy to do activities on the side. We were really happy to work there, as she was very relaxed and easy-going with us. Everything felt simple and in a very good atmosphere. The place is truly beautiful, just a few minutes from the beach and right next to a bus stop that makes it easy to travel around the island. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with very open-minded people. We even had the chance to be introduced to some of Sheridan’s friends. Thank you again for this unforgettable week. We wish you all the best for the future. This beautiful experience almost marked the end of our adventure in New Zealand, and we were very happy to spend one of our last weeks here with you. We stayed with Marie in Bounou for just under 2 weeks and got to spend some time with her, Charlie and her lovely cats. It was an incredible experience and we loved walking around the dunes, relaxing in her garden and cycling to the village of M’Hamid (with the bikes she provided). Marie is an extremely kind, friendly and adventurous woman who introduced us to her friends here and made sure we had all we needed throughout our stay. We hope to see her again soon. Merci beaucoup pour tout, Marie! ❤️

Two weeks (as planned) spent here was an unbeliveble experience of living in the large buddhist community - with greatly generous, kind and hospitable people. I could say a lot of great, unique experience of being part of the really big community, about great comrades, tasty food, beautiful places like Main Shrine, Sutra Repository, Buddha Land, Buddha Museum, Sleeping Buddha. The whole place is like a small town, really, it impressed by its size, variety, hidden places worth to explore and see. I've experienced a great onboarding (thank you Hui Zan and Boey), living conditions, interesting activities and work, and a lot of compassionate and understanding when e.g. I needed have a break, drink water, cuz climate is way different there than in my country (it was very hot and humid during my stay). Thank for this great experience, for the opportunity to be part of your community.

It was very nice to have Tim here as a Workawayer here at Hitra. Tim works very well. He is a perfectionist. Everything he does is perfect. It was a pleasure to watch him work, he is very creative and I learned a lot from him. This is how it should be where we can give each other new knowledge. He is sociable and we had a lot of fun together. Tim is good at cooking, he is a perfectionist there too. A great pleasure to have met him. Good luck going forward

It was very nice to have Marinus visit as a Worawayer here at Hitra. He was here for 5 weeks. He worked well both independently and together with me. He learns quickly and can handle different tools. He is sociable and we had many nice times together. He is recommended to other hosts.

This experience is great for volunteers that have the ability to get around the island without relying on the host. It’s certainly an volunteering experience that requires a level of intelligence and maturity, because of the circumstances of the exchange. Pantelli offers a weekly stipend for food, but it is sometimes difficult to cook in certain areas, just because of how limited the kitchen space might be. There is clean filtered water for everybody to drink from, which was amazing to have. Overall the experience was pleasant, people just need to be ready for certain expectations and need to have the willingness to meet those expectations or risk being overwhelmed by the outcome.

I stayed at Yo and Jennifer’s house for two weeks. They were very kind to me, so I worked hard to repay their kindness. What I mainly did was gardening, weeding, cooking, and cleaning. They let me cook Japanese dishes, and they said it was good, which made me happy. If you are a carpenter or have carpentry skills, you might be able to help them arrange their house. The room I stayed in was very nice and had a great view. You can also meet a lot of friendly animals! I don’t think I will ever forget you guys and these memories. Thank you so much!

amazing place where I spent 7 months — it became like home to me. Petra, you have a big and kind heart. Thank you for sharing a piece of your world with me. The work wasn't hard — it was interesting. Peace, quiet, nature — and I had plenty of free time. I learned a lot here and understood many things about myself. The cat and two dogs are very sweet, and also the six chickens — I really enjoyed spending time with them. This place will forever stay in my heart.

I stayed here for 3 months. It was a very nice experience. Alice Springs is a lovely town with a diverse community. I was working in town so I didn’t spend much time at the hostel itself but I enjoyed it. The vibe is very nice. Not a party hostel, everybody is trying to be respectful of others. The work itself wasn’t complicated and Seb doesn’t lay impossible expectations on workawayers. The first room I stayed at wasn’t working for me but I was given an other room quickly. Skai also made the job way easier for everybody, thanks 😉. If you are looking for a chill place to stay for few months, I think it's a good choice !

Sofi and Rod are incredibly friendly, flexible, and reliable people. Communication was always clear and easy, which made everything run smoothly from the start. They worked very independently and handled tasks with a lot of responsibility and initiative. I really appreciated how proactive they were, finding solutions on their own and even doing their own research when needed. I was honestly impressed by how many things they managed to repair. They fixed my cabinet, repaired a bike, and brought several things back to life. Amazing skills to have around. They also kept the apartment clean and tidy at all times, which I truly appreciated. Sofi spent time with my daughter practicing handstands, which we will always remember. It was such a lovely connection. Another highlight was how well they handled and used the rescued food supplies, turning everything into wonderful meals for all of us. Managing that amount of rescued food is something I personally find challenging, so I was really impressed. Thank you for the wonderful time together. You have definitely set the bar high for future Workawayers. I am super happy with the whole experience. Let’s stay in touch 😊

Frederique is an incredibly generous and kind host. She always prepared delicious meals and genuinely cared about making my stay enjoyable and comfortable. We had such a wonderful time together, and she also introduced me to many fun local activities and events, which made my experience in Arles even more memorable. The work is easy to learn and not stressful, and the schedule is flexible—you can always discuss and arrange the working hours with her. I truly enjoyed my time here. I highly recommend staying with her!

It is hard to believe that Christine is already leaving. Having her here has been an absolute pleasure, and I genuinely feel sad to see her go. Christine is one of those rare people who brings sunshine wherever she goes. She is warm, respectful, easy to be around, and from the very beginning it felt as if she had been part of the place for a long time. I felt completely comfortable in her company, and sharing daily life and work with her was effortless. She is highly independent, proactive, and remarkably capable. Whatever task was at hand seemed to get done perfectly and in no time at all. During her stay, she helped with planting vegetables and flowers, watering the garden, building trellises for cucumbers, trimming hedges, using the weed-whacker, and even tackling an overgrown gravel driveway that many people would have gladly avoided. She approached every task with enthusiasm and confidence. Christine has a genuine green thumb and took special delight in caring for the young tomato plants, which received plenty of attention under her watch. Her care for plants and the garden was evident in everything she did. Beyond her excellent work ethic, Christine’s positive energy made a lasting impression. She is thoughtful, considerate, hardworking, and simply wonderful to have around. I recommend her wholeheartedly to any future host. Christine, you are welcome back here anytime, whether to help out, to visit, or simply to say hello and spend some time together. It was a joy having you here, and I hope our paths cross again.

Could not recommend these guys enough. Their profile and the other reviews are super accurate - they want nothing but for you to have a good time! We worked hard building a terrace but the hours and breaks were accordingly fair. Sam's cooking is outstanding, Teo is a mischievous delight, and Damien is a master digger operator with a lovely collaborative temperament. Their advice about hikes and activities in the surrounding areas made our trip. Thanks so much Sam and Damien!!

Maree (and Steven) are wonderful kind people. I came here as my 2nd workaway and had a really nice 2 weeks in busby. it felt like being home, Maree made sure of that, she is the best !!! the volunteering work I did was sewing stuffed animals for the Christmas shoebox project, which was so nice, being able to use my skills in actual volunteer work. I also helped out at the foodbank on Tuesday evening, which was a wonderful experience, amazing people and work they do! the general housekeeping stuff is easy as, the cats are sweet and cuddly, the bed is very comfy and it honestly just feels like home. Thank you Maree for having me!
