Hi, I’m Jackie 😊 I live with my 8-year-old daughter in Oerlikon, about 5 km from Zurich’s city center (around 20 minutes by public transport or bicycle).

Our neighborhood is urban and lively but also very family-friendly. We live in a housing cooperative with shared facilities such as car and bike rentals, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, a café, and a free coworking space with Wi-Fi. There are several parks nearby, and thanks to free bike rentals it’s easy to explore Zurich’s lakes, rivers, and surrounding nature. Zurich airport is also close (about 25 minutes by bike or 14 minutes by public transport).

I work as a teacher and am usually working Monday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays.

The help needed is rather light and spread over the week. The most important fixed times are Thursday and Friday mornings.

On those mornings, I leave the house at 06:30, so it would be great if you could:
    - have breakfast with my daughter
    - help her get ready for school
    - make sure she leaves on time (she should leave home around 08:05)

In addition, we’re happy to plan things flexibly depending on your interests and strengths. Typical help could include:
    - Light household support (cleaning, tidying up, watering plants, small repairs, assembling shelves, etc.)
    - Evening support a few times per week (cooking dinner and keeping an eye on my daughter), which allows me to go to sports 2–3 evenings per week

Overall, the taskload is around 10–12 hours per week, well below the usual Workaway maximum, leaving plenty of free time.

Since the taskload is not very heavy, I’m very open to welcoming someone who might also like to bring in their own ideas or small projects that could enrich our household or family life. This could be:
    - cooking ideas or recipes from your culture
    - creative or educational activities with my daughter
    - helping organize or improve things at home

We see this stay very much as an exchange, not just help.

If you’re interested, I’m also happy to introduce you to foodsharing, a sustainability-focused community I’m actively involved in. This is completely optional and meant as cultural and social exchange rather than work.

Staying with us offers a genuine insight into everyday life in Zurich and in Switzerland beyond the tourist perspective. As a family, we value openness, conversation, and learning from each other.

    Travellers can:
    - experience daily life in a Swiss urban neighborhood and housing cooperative
    - learn how family life, school routines, and work-life balance are organized in Switzerland
    - exchange ideas about education, parenting, sustainability, and community life

I work as a teacher, so I enjoy sharing perspectives on the Swiss education system and learning from other cultures and backgrounds in return.

If interested, travellers can also get an insight into foodsharing, a sustainability movement I’m actively involved in, including how community-based initiatives work in Switzerland. Participation is optional and meant as cultural exchange rather than work.

Above all, this stay is about mutual exchange: sharing meals, conversations, experiences, and perspectives on life.

The help we’re looking for is light and spread over the week. The most important fixed times are Thursday and Friday mornings.

On those mornings, I leave the house at 06:30, so you would:
    - have breakfast with my daughter
    - help her get ready for school
    - make sure she leaves on time (around 08.05)

In addition, support is needed in a flexible way, depending on the week and your interests. This may include:
    - light household tasks (tidying up, cleaning, watering plants)
    - small practical tasks around the flat (assembling shelves, minor repairs, organizing)
    - cooking dinner and being with my daughter in the evenings a few times per week

Since the overall taskload is not very heavy, I’m very open to ideas or small projects you might want to contribute to our household or family life. We’re happy to shape things together so it’s a good fit for both sides.

Optional: If you’re interested, you’re welcome to join me in food sharing activities or learn more about sustainability and community work in Zurich. This is meant as cultural exchange, not as work.
