I had a wonderful experience with this beautiful family. From the very first day, Kathleen and Vincent made me feel at home, and the whole family welcomed me with so much warmth that I immediately felt safe and comfortable with them. I loved sharing simple moments together, like chatting during meals, laughing about little things and spending time in the house with everyone. They made me feel included in everything, and that kindness meant a lot to me. The gardening in the mornings was peaceful and enjoyable, and it made me rediscover how nice it is to work outdoors. The tasks were always clear and never stressful, and they were always ready to help or explain anything I needed. Their home is lovely, with a big garden and a calm atmosphere that made every day feel light and pleasant. Life in the house was full of warmth, smiles and genuine affection. We shared beautiful moments, great conversations and many laughs that I will remember with a lot of fondness. I am truly grateful for the month I spent with them last month. They are very special people, and I could not have asked for a better Workaway experience. I hope to see them again soon.

Adam was here for one and a half week. This time of year we needed help trimming grass under the electric fenses for the sheep and removing small bushes. He is polite and followed the house roles.

Staying with Eddy for two weeks was our most transformative experience so far. Eddy is a teacher, a guide, and a friend and he and his parents welcomed us to their home like family. Admittedly, the first two days were humbling - the comforts of daily life are naturally limited due to the circumstances (no running water, a dry toilet, half an hour by car on bumpy roads to reach the next supermarket and limited resources overall) and we hardly slept in the beginning due to the nightly heat in May. But Eddy helped us to deal with these challenges and was always open for or coming up with solutions. Then, very quickly, we fell in love with the daily routine, the tasks, the animals, the surrounding nature and the people we met. If we hadn't had plans afterwards, we would have prolonged our stay for sure. Also, Eddy is always happy to teach you about everything he knows, which is a lot, and even gave us a little solar power workshop. Some advice for fellow workawayers: - not coming by car is possible, but daunting. we were really happy to have one, also for expeditions and going to Sardinal - bring canned food, since you won't always have access to a refrigerator - if you love your comfort zone very much, this is not the place for you 😉

It’s a pleasure to write this first reference for Fabio, who stayed with us for two weeks as a Workawayer from Italy this June. Fabio was an absolute standout guest and one of the best Workawayers we’ve hosted. He’s easygoing, hardworking, and incredibly reliable; exactly the kind of person any host would be lucky to have. His attitude was consistently positive: he arrived each day motivated, asked good questions, and never shied away from a challenge. During his stay he helped with a wide range of tasks: Gardening & grounds: He worked hard outside, keeping everything tidy and well-maintained. Household & cleaning: He was meticulous and took initiative to keep shared spaces in great condition. Painting: He approached this with care and attention to detail, delivering a great finish. Tougher Jobs: Fabio even stepped up for demanding tasks like work on the septic tank without hesitation. That says a lot about his character and willingness to help. Beyond the work, Fabio was a pleasure to have around. He’s friendly, respectful, great to chat with, and adapted to our routine effortlessly. He left our home and garden in an incredibly much better shape than when he arrived. I would welcome Fabio back anytime and recommend him without any reservation to other hosts. He’s trustworthy, self-motivated, and brings great energy to any project. Ciao Fabio! Safe travels!

Silvia and Francesca were awesome company and fun to have stay here with me. They get on well together and work well together. They both radiate enthusiasm with a can do attitude. The work I requested was challenging moving mulch around my garden ,which is situated on a hill, however, they managed to get it done with smiling faces. I really appreciate their hard working efforts. They respected the area spotting wild life and taking walks into the bush. They were well accepted and liked by my small community joining in on trivia night and coming out to listen to some local music and having a dance. They were extremely respectful house guest and wonderful cooks too. Their "Eggplant Parmigiana" was deliziosa!!! (I hope my Italian is correct). They taught me some basic Italian words and phases and we laughed a lot together. I would always welcome them back here into my home. I can highly recommend them to future hosts as respectful guest, fun company and good workers. I wish them both safe travels and I hope to see them again one day.

I and my two children planned to stay 1,5 week in Chantal and Ybo's house. Finally we stay 2,5 weeks because it was very friendly there ! They offered us a wonderful house and chalet to live, we were able to enjoy their beautiful swimming-pool, the peacefulness of their place. The kids played a lot with all the children that stayed in the place (we were different families of Workawayers). The works Ybo asked me to do were perfect for me and he always asked me if I was ok. We had interesting discusions because they have had a lot of lives and a lot to share ! I just want to thanks them for everything, it was a wonderful expérience. And we all 3 hope to come back one day !

It was a great pleasure having you here, Veronika. You are a relaxed, open-minded, and curious young woman. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations and hikes around Quirós, where I live and work as an artist. Your virtuoso guitar playing and beautiful voice were a real asset to the music and jam sessions we often hold in our little village. During your week here, you were a great help around the house. Thanks to your creativity in cooking and baking, we ate very well. And we also found time to experiment a bit with new lighting for my indoor photography. Thank you so much for everything. I wish you a continued wonderful and enriching journey!

I had a very happy stay in George’s land :) almost three weeks! George is a very busy person, but always aware if anything is needed. He also likes to speak about life :) On fridays, we used to go to the market in the closest town, that was very nice. There was always a lot of work to do! The place is stunning, such a wild nature, I felt really good there. I enjoyed so much being with Uma, the cute dog, Golem the loving cat, and Morgana and Gorrión, the two old horses that arrived a little later than me. I just went through my fear to the horses with them, they are soo nice. Thanks for everything George! Hope you get a lot of volunteers to help you maintain your beautiful place!!

Super expérience chez Achille et Josefa pour la dernière étape de notre voyage ! Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par l'ensemble de la famille. Le travail était varié, nous avons aidé à l'entretien du jardin du domaine familial, et aidé Achille sur différents travaux de construction de sa maison. Chaque jour dans la bonne humeur, nous prenions une petite pause maté pour pouvoir discuter de tout. On a beaucoup apprécié cette expérience où nous avons aussi beaucoup appris sur la culture Chilienne et le pisco. En bref on s'est senti comme en famille et entre amis, c'était super, nous reviendrons sans hésiter. Nous conseillons ce volontariat à toute personne qui aimerait prendre un peu de temps dans la vallée de Elqui et partager de bons moments en toute simplicité. Aussi le logement est très agréable avec tout ce qu'il faut on s'y est senti super bien. Merci Achille et Josefa :))

What a place! We feel very lucky to have stayed here for 4 weeks. The scenery, the nature, the beautiful structures and the AMAZING food. We loved the community that is being built here and in particular the language exchange with permanent resident Dora. We had a wide range of tasks from building some stairs, landscaping, and greenhouse care, to painting signs, hosting, and sanding floors. There is enough for everyone's skill sets, this would suit someone who is self motivated. We are here for the start of rainy season (May to June) and would advise people coming at a similar time to bring fast drying clothes that they are not sentimentally attached to - the jungle may claim them. Thank you for having us!

I spent about 3 weeks on the farm in May. I truly loved my experience; the animals are so well cared for and the work is pretty consistent, a shift in the morning and evening, so it’s easy to get into a nice routine. The beach is a short 15-20 min walking distance and it’s easy to travel around the island hitchhiking. With that being said, what made this experience so special was Amanda. Her passion and love for the ponies is contagious; she truly cares about this project and it is so evident. We went to lunch a few times throughout my time with the other volunteers and every conversation with her is so meaningful. I enjoyed all our conversations, as Amanda has endless wisdom and stories as well as being very interested in learning about the volunteers. I would definitely recommend this workaway to say the least!

It was a nice experience, I received a lot of trust from Maca and Bernardo since I took care of the Finca for a couple of days while they were out. A very peaceful couple of days that helped me to organise my mind. Thanks

Agnès and her kids Alexi and Emma stayed with us for a few weeks. We enjoyed having them here a lot. Agnès is super nice, a hard worker and handy as well. Our children loved playing with her kids and had a very good time with them. After the first 1,5 week we were happy the we could offer them to stay for another week.

What can I say about Tuba? It was an absolute pleasure to host her for more than a month. She is kind, polite, communicative, and an incredibly hard worker. From the very beginning, she became part of our daily life so naturally that it felt like we already knew her for years. Tuba is a very proactive person who always did more than what we asked for. Our little farm honestly never looked better before she came to help us, and all of our animals absolutely loved her. We were really sad to see her leave, and we would host her again anytime without hesitation. She also spent time with our friends, and communication was always so easy and natural, more like having a friend around than a volunteer. Thank you so much for all the hard work, care, and passion you put into every task. We are truly grateful for everything you did here and for all the positive energy you brought to our home. We hope our paths cross again in the future :)

I’ve just left Markus and Katya’s place, and oh God, it was such a lovely experience! My main reason for doing Workaway was to improve my French speaking and listening skills and even though my French sucked, they were really patient with me. When I didn’t understand, they always repeated things slowly or tried to explain them using different words and they didn’t switch to English unless I did. When I first arrived, another Workawayer Leny told me: “You are so lucky to do your first Workaway here.” I completely understand what he meant now. The place is located between the mountains and the sea and it’s such a beautiful area. I really loved the beach and swimming there. I also really enjoyed spending time with Simba and Choco🐶🐱. I did something different every day, from removing weeds to cutting a tree, and I learned a lot of things. The balance between work time and free time was perfect. I worked more during four days so I could have three days off that week and since Barcelona is only about two hours away by train, I decided to go there. When Markus heard that I didn’t have a place to stay, he called a friend in Barcelona to arrange a place for me, which was very kind of him. Lastly, Leny made a fire some evenings and we drank beer around it which was really cool as well! I really recommend this place to anyone who wants to improve their French, or simply chill by the beach.

Sarah has been an amazing volunteer and a wonderful presence in our community. During her time with us, she showed kindness, patience, and genuine care for the children. She quickly built strong connections with the students, making them feel comfortable, happy, and motivated to learn. Sarah's positive attitude and willingness to help in every situation made a significant impact on our school. She adapted very well to life in our rural community, interacted respectfully with local families, and always participated enthusiastically in daily activities. The children especially loved spending time with Sarah. Her creativity, warmth, and cheerful personality brought joy to the classroom and created many memorable moments. She was not only a volunteer but also a role model who inspired the children through her actions and compassion. We are truly grateful for the time, energy, and dedication Sarah shared with us. Her contribution will be remembered for a long time, and both the children and the community will miss her greatly. We warmly welcome Sarah to visit us again in the future. She will always have friends and a family here in our village.

It was a such pleasure to have Cathy with us. The proof, she came several times at home. Cathy has a very good feeling with children. They have loved her ! Cathy has excellent interpersonal skills. She was a real source of support for our family. I can only highly recommend her.

This was my first Workaway experience on a farm, so I was very excited. Unfortunately, I was sick when I arrived, but Jennie and Norman made me feel welcome from the start. They showed me everything and helped me settle into my work.My main tasks included feeding the animals in the morning and preparing everything for that. I also helped with various other jobs, such as sweeping and cleaning up after the horses. I was able to go horse riding, and we even went on trail rides at the weekends. The location is beautiful, and I had the chance to explore the surrounding area by car. Jennie gave me helpful tips on places to visit. Jennie and Norman are kind, friendly, and helpful people, and it was a pleasure to help on their farm. Thank you very much for the wonderful time!

We stayed with Dallas for a week and had the chance to relax and do many walks around the Southern Highlands. Dallas is a lovely and caring host and we enjoyed the many drives she took us on during our stay. The work consisted in small house jobs like vacuuming, hanging out laundry, or cleaning her van and we had plenty of time to relax, do puzzles and explore the area. I would recommend her to anyone looking to relax and enjoy some warm company :))
