Hey there adventurous spirits!
We are a family of five living in the beautiful Arrow Lakes region of the Kootenays -- an area that's truly one of the most unique hidden gems in all of Canada (from someone who's explored thousands of kilometers of this country). Living here is a dream come true for our family.
For the last decade we've been working toward creating our own version of paradise, permaculture style.
We're gearing up for our second growing season on this magical chunk of land we get to steward and have big plans...
🌻 GARDEN - Last year was our first on this land and despite having so much to learn we still managed to grow so much food. This year we'll be doubling down and growing even more incredible organic bounty, experimenting with lots of new ideas, fun new plant varieties (cucamelon anyone?!) upping our compost game, and more. If you love playing in the dirt and being rewarded with juicy strawberries and the world's best tomato toast, welcome to your new happy place.
🍎 FRUIT TREES - Good things take time, what better example than fruit trees? This year we'll be planting, not crunching quite yet, but what we lack in fruit harvest we make up for in fun, pinky promise.
🏔️ OPERATION YURT - We just acquired a 30ft. yurt and will need to build a platform for it that can confidently hold many dancing bodies. Once this space is set up we are planning to set up a float tank, infrared sauna, and yoga zone to decompress from these crazy times in and create a space for community to gather!
🌶️ EPIC MEALS - Chanti was a professional cook and food blogger and we often joke that her gangster name is 'assorted aiolis' -- we love food and we make some damn good meals on a pretty regular basis. If you're looking to learn or simply imbibe and enjoy, we've got you covered.
🧒👦👦KIDDO FUN - Our kids are the coolest... not biased at all! But seriously, they are wee rays of sunshine with so much to teach us and anyone who meets them falls madly in love and laughs constantly because they're so silly. The kids love to spend plenty of time in nature and "helping" in the kitchen and garden and are ages 1, 2.5, and 8.
What else? Here's a little bit about us as humans, what we're like, what we're into, all the stuff that'd make you say yay or nay when looking at whether to spend your time and energy with someone.
Firstly, we do not discriminate -- all are welcome in our home regardless of the color, gender, religion, political affiliation or personal health choices 🙏🌶️
We're open minded, big hearted, and generally pretty chill and easy to talk to and get along with. We laugh and dance a lot and are both committed to personal growth and lifelong learning. We love talking about what the flip is going on in the world, learning about other cultures and perspectives.
Our favorite topics range from entrepreneurship to psychedelics, the best way to stake a tomato plant to somatic healing. Our book collection is pretty darn impressive and if you're really charming Colin might show you his twerking skills. We're weird, but in the best ways, and we welcome you to show up as yourself and nothing else.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

We eat amazing food and cook all our meals from scratch using as much of our own produce and possible. If you want to learn to cook some delicious food, Chanti would be happy to share.
We also love movement practices and Chanti is a trained yoga teacher. If you have an interest in yoga, dance, HIIT, you would be welcome to join us for a morning movement session.
We can share our knowledge of the wild edible plants to be found in this area.
We have a small vineyard which we are learning about as we live here, and would be happy to share our meager knowledge of vines.
We operate a successful online business and are willing to provide some mentorship if it's of interest to you.
Colin studied timber framing and is great at building things, very handy and happy to share.Proyectos con niños

We have a cozy and clean trailer for you to stay in, or potentially a 4 season panel tent with a full bed inside. Food wise, you will need to prep your own breakfast, but we are happy to provide lunch and dinner. We eat meat (mostly local and organic/free range) but can accommodate vegetarians and our meals range from delicious hearty soups to rice bowls, wood fired pizzas, or the best nachos you'll ever have,

The area we live in is beautiful. Our property is populated by many a wild flower. This area is famous for it's Lupins. The Valhalla and Monashee mountain ranges surround us and there is plenty of opportunity to hike up into the hills. Multiple hot springs are a short drive away, and the lake is a 5 minute walk. You can stop in at the local cidery on the way to the water and pick up a ready made picnic. There is a lovely farmers market on the weekend, where you will find locally roasted coffee, blacksmiths, pasture raised beef, meads, wines, produce, etc.

You would be able to use the wifi from the trailer. We have Starlink here, so the internet speeds are quite good.

We'd be happy to accept a dog on the property as long as their not roamers and are ok around our farm animals. We have a young large breed dog (female, unfixed).
