  My Husband and I opened our small B&B and retreat about 3 year ago and have had our surf shop for 5 years. Just this December we have decided to merge our two businesses. I am Canadian and he is Costa Rican. We are fairly laid back but are not partiers; we enjoy a healthy lifestyle, daily routines of exercises and healthy food. We are always looking for happy, positive, smiling volunteers that love to help and have a passion for socializing, travel and adventure.
  Our Hotel in Costa Rica is located in Tamarindo. We are on a quiet road and about 5 minute walk to the beach --We are not a hostel but, a boutique hotel. We provide a unique opportunity to experience the real meaning of "Pura Vida".
  
  Our Environment provides an oppuntunity to connect with yourself, create long lasting friendships, meet travelers from around the globe and a chance to experience the unique culture of Costa Rica and of course a chance to improve your spanish language skills
  
  We are looking for Volenteers that will vibe with our Pura Vida lifestyle, who are positive and always willing to help with a smile, can be a team player but also a forward thinker as many projects will be completed independently .

  We offer you an amazing cultural experience with a full immersion in one of the most beautiful countries in Central America - Tamarindo is one of the most popular towns for surfing and beach going. In Tamarindo we have one of the best surfing spots in Costa Rica; If you don't surf, you will surely learn from the best, and if you do surf you will have some amazing new buddies to surf with. You can also choose to join a language program while you are here and we can assist you with this if one of your goals is to learn Spanish, if not you will surely pick up on the lingo from the locals during your time here. One of the great benefits helping us in a hotel setting is the people you will meet. We have visitors from many countries; giving you the chance to intermingle with different cultures and languages from all over the world. You will learn about their countries and cultures and make lasting friendships.

  Ayuda

  We will consider volunteers that can spend at least 2 months with us 3 being Ideal. Training is not an easy task and it takes long time to train and get up to speed. We are looking for happy, outgoing, friendly, and mature people that would fulfill the duties in the reception area along with other duties in hospitality and tourism industry
  
  Helping in tourism is a lot of fun; you get to meet people from all over the world, make friends, go to the beach, surf, go travel etc... We are looking for responsible independent help with knowledge Microsoft Office, English is a MUST and Spanish is very helpful.
  
  Volenteer program is 4-5 days a week (could differ depending on time of year). This leaves you with several days for learning Spanish and getting to know this wonderful Costa Rican culture . We also have internship opportunities please ask direct about this if you are interested.
  
  Role included helping in both businesses . Some days in one , some in the other.
  
  Daily Tasks Include but not limited to:
  
  Receptionist/desk -
  
  - Help with hotel reception including the tasks of proceeding with check-in/out procedures, customer service, new bookings, correspondence via email and phone in (Spanish is a plus) some times also help with cleaning or restaurant duties, room check.
  - Inventory control, orders and deliveries from suppliers.
  - Offering of entertainment activities for guests. (Outsourced)
  - Online marketing duties such as social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter), monthly newsletter, website blog post, OTA’s promotion, answering guest reviews on various platforms like TripAdvisor, Google, Expedia.com and Booking.com
  - Reaching out for new partnerships with global yoga retreats and tour agencies.
  - Attending clients in surf shop . Waxing/ Cleaning surfboards
  
  We are looking for someone with flexibility , to be a well-focused, goal oriented and also to be able to perform independently with minimum supervision on the given tasks.
  
  We are looking for someone that is happy and positive and also an independent worker. Someone that is not afraid to share their knowledge or even offer suggestions for improvement areas. We are a new business and are looking for someone who is a team player to help out where needed and is willing to learn new things.
  
  WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR SURF INSTRUCTORS OR YOGA TEACHERS. Please only apply if you are up to fulfill the tasks above.

  A shared apartment with other volunteers/employees. This will be shared with 1-3 others. This is offsite and you will have a mix of cultures in your home. This is a full apartment with kitchen so you will be able to cook your own meals therefore we do not provide meals

  We are flexible with schedule and hope you can be also. We understand you are here to travel and explore and want to see some of these amazing spots Costa Rica has to offer; we encourage this. We are not Party people and we ask you to keep your nightlife away from the property. No drugs or alcohol allowed during helping hours. We know Tamarindo can be quite the party town but it is your responsibility to show up clean, sober and ready to action for your shift. We like to have fun and enjoy our work, we will try to take you on tours and involve you in outside activities. We ask that you respect our privacy and we will respect yours. Security is a huge priority and we ask you not to bring friends to the hotel or housing. Helping us is fun and you always have time for enjoying....as long as the help is done in a responsible and timely manner.
  
  We like to assign tasks and goals and check in periodically . We will try to be available but if we are not we expect the volunteer to think on their toes and try to find a solution.
  
  If you have a special skill set please let us know, we have other many areas where you can contribute or it may be possible for you to have your volunteer experience catered towards something that you love doing such as marketing or photography ect.
  
  One volunteer got to use her website knowledge to not only benefit us but also enrich her experience with us. Let us know what you are good at or passionate about! Another helped design an app. Helping eachother is really what this exchange is all about !

  Due to the Volenteer ing only requiring 20-25 hours per week , we would be happy to support you while you work . The volunteer I am looking for with not need to be hands on for 5 hours day and can be very flexible hours as long as goals are met and 2 meetings in person or online a week . Internet is good but best by router as entire property is concrete .
