I stayed with Emma Jacob and their 2 children during 1 month :)
It's was a great pleasure to stay with us, I felt very very confortable in their house.
I was anxious about my first workaway alone and I really enjoyed it !!
Freshford is a quiet and nice village and Emma and Jacob are available if you need to go somewhere else. The
… read more accommodation is really nice, the bed is big and very confortable and you have your own bedroom (sometimes a little monkey called Eva can come to wake up you :p).
The work is not hard, you have just to help Emma with the diary chores (washing, ironing..) and with the kids :)
I spent a lot of time with Emma who is very funny, you will never be bored with her! She has always good ideas to entertain the kids (the race with vegetables :p)
I think we get along very well because we think the same about why we are doing workaway, is not just work is about sharing ways of life and opinions :)
She helped me with my English and we laughed about my accent! She likes cooking so if you like food like me hahah you will enjoy theses moments
The children, Oliver and Eva are energetic, funny and very cheeky. I hope Eva will stay a little boss like now, who never needs help and keeps saying "go awaaaay" although I know she likes me haha :)
Thanks Emma and Jacob for all the conversations, for introducing me to your friends, for the nights spending watching homeland and for make me part of the family! I will never forget your hospitality.

We were Paula and Anta's first "workaway" experience and we were pleased to have such lovely girls stay with us. Their English is very good and they understand and communicate very well - including having a sense of humour!
Our house is not huge and they did extremely well to fit in, adjust to family life and find their space - especially with
… read more two such boisterous kids! They independently cooked for themselves and explored the area. Anta especially loved finding Harry Potter locations locally!
They taught us about Germany, the differences in culture and country, plus some new words.
They're really lovely girls who did a great job at painting the kitchen and I'm sure would do well with any job they come across. They have a great adventure ahead of them and I know we will keep in touch and see them again. :-)

We stayed three weeks with Emma, Jacob and their lovely children.
It was our first workaway experience and the made it really special.
The room is very cozy and the bed is big and comfortable. This and Emma and Jacob being very open and lovely made us feel at home quickly.
We spend a lot of nice evenings with interesting and funny talks

Emma always gave us a lift when we needed one but the train station is only 5 minutes away so we could easily catch the train to Bath.
We did small maintenance work and a lot of painting but we still had a lot of free time.
Eva and Oliver are pretty active so you will never get bored. We had a lot of fun with them!
Emma really cared about us and was not only a host, she became a good friend.
We had an amazing time with this family and will never forget about it.

We had such a amazing time having Ester and Eulalia stay with our family. So much so that they felt like extended family in the end and they are already so missed. The kids keep on asking where they have gone! :-).
They have a vibtant shining energy and are always relaxed, curious and happy. They got involved with family life straight away,
… read more played with the kids, helped around the house and took themselves off for walks and local visits.
They were an absolute pleasure having in our home and worked hard to help us around the house.
Their English is very good and we hope they felt they learned a little more with us. They are smiley and kind by nature, so much so that our friends were asking if they could help do some work for them!!
Ester and Eulalia can turn their hand to any job coming their way. Not only will they do it to a high standard but they will do it with a smile. :-).
They will be very missed and we hope they will come and stay again soon when the weather is a little warmer :-).

The tasks are not hard, Emma is very chill and kind. We help her redecorating a part of her house and sometimes we babysit the children who are great fun, creative and active.

… read more lots of things to do at Freshford it is a great town and very well communicated to Bath and Bristol thanks to the train station. Moreover, Emma did all she could to integrate us in the village life, showing us places to go, taking us around and recommending us things to do.
We were very lucky to find this cheerful and chill family and we will be always very thankful for all they taught us. We learned a lot of english with them as we spent lots of hours at night talking (they are a great couple with a really good sense of humor).
