**2023 UPDATE!* After an exciting and busy year we're planning what's to come for 2023. We'll be cutting back on some of the farm work in order to focus on finishing the living spaces with the ultimate goal of finding like-minded folk to live here on a more permanent basis. Although, we are expecting lambs within the next few weeks so be prepared for cuteness. There will be plenty of clay plastering, straw wall building, woodwork etc. to get involved in, so if any of that sounds interesting to you we would be happy to host visitors for as long as they wished over spring, summer and (depending on how much we get done) into autumn. Also, anyone interested in hanging out with our two adorable children (we are in no way biased ;) ) are more than welcome. Help with childcare/cooking is always appreciated! We love an opportunity to show who and what we represent and meet new, like-minded folk. So, if you're free this year, then please get in touch! Ciao 4 now :-) )**
We are a small, bilingual family (Austrian and British) living in the Austrian countryside, renovating and expanding our grandparents farmhouse to include space for our dairy sheep, beehives, chickens and more! We use natural building materials such as clay, straw, lime and reed to create communal and private spaces which we would love to share with as many people and cultures as possible.
Our hope is to make long term connections and friendships, it's wonderful when previous visitors return and share their experiences! Cultural exchange is important to us and we are lucky enough to have a beautiful home that should not be for only us but shared with the world.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

The farm lies in the Waldviertel, the Wood Quarter of Lower Austria, where we hope to be able to share our knowledge of natural building techniques and materials as well as our experiences of small-scale farming, though we ourselves are learning new things all the time!
We love to spend time with people from different cultures and backgrounds, especially around the fire (inside or out) where we play music, swap stories and try out new dishes with our own, home-grown food.Proyectos con niños

Most importantly we would like help with our natural building projects although there is the opportunity to also work with the animals and in our garden. You will find that there is always something to do and no two days are the same here!
No experience is required although it would be helpful. We can teach you everything you might need to know but if you can teach us anything too that would be wonderful, language exchange is a great example.
From milking sheep, to bee keeping, to haymaking, to clay plastering, to straw bale building, to communal cooking, to natural stone building to harvesting fruit, vegetables, grains and honey, to figuring out where the chickens laid their eggs, there is something for almost everyone and you can try it all or choose a specific area in which you would like to be involved. To be clear, we currently only build and produce food for ourselves and work together as a family to do this, we do not sell any of our produce and are only a private household.
Individuals, couples, families, and pets friends are all welcome!Idiomas

All languages welcome! We can always find ways to communicate but we are particularly interested in improving our knowledge of Arabic, French, Spanish and Hindi.Alojamiento
There are a few different spots around the property where people can stay and although sleeping inside is an option, it should be noted that the buildings are still a work-in-progress so it's maybe not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Outside however, there is ample space for tents, caravans or campers, with of course access to a shared bathroom, outdoor shower and shared kitchen. We personally like sleeping in the orchard in Summer ;-)
We prefer to eat altogether though we understand that it's not always possible and try to take turns cooking. Our diet is (mostly) vegetarian but anyone visiting should feel free to cook and eat what makes them feel good. We share our food and can provide all you might need, unless it's olives. Olives are the devils butt nuggets.Algo más...
Previous visitors and volunteers have taken time to work at a local farm producing vegetable boxes and we help out at a small Montessori style school project too, teaching English to children aged from 5 to 14. We would be more than happy to arrange similar exchanges with helpers and can provide bikes for this or any other purpose. We highly recommend that anyone who visits takes a stroll to our local swimming spot and Krems an der Donau is a 30min drive away, with loads of history, food and access to the Danube. Vienna, is 1:30 hours away by car and 2 hours by public transport.
