Urgent. We have been let down by some people and need some new volunteers asap. If you are in Ireland and have been following the social distancing please get in touch. We are also looking for people who have some amazing handy man experience two would be even better. To help fix fences, and other odd jobs. If you can drive a tractor even better. We also need people to help with the cleaning and feed in of our animals. Please get in touch today
My name is Martina and I am a co-founder of the animal rescue. I am a graphic designer by trade. I live on the farm at weekends and then go back to Dublin to work on a Tuesday.
There’s a very good bus service to Dublin and other parts of the country if you want to explore on your days off.
The rescue organisation is very busy and full of energy, we regularly have emergencies to attend and new animals arriving constantly, visits to the veterinary hospital, and sometimes have to deal with severe cases of neglect. It is not for the faint hearted, but it is incredibly rewarding. People who enjoy this type of help have lots of energy and enjoy getting hands on experience with large numbers of animals of all varieties. We have many horses, Shetland ponies and donkeys, pigs, goats and and a big pack of house dogs [15 to 20] so you will never be lonely :).
It is hard and tiring help but very rewarding.
All the volunteers are a great bunch of people, very friendly and helpful.
It’s noisy and full on most days. Always people in and out.
It is very important that you speak some English. Winter you would need warm clothes and warm boots/wellingtons.
We have a no meat policy because most Volunteers are vegetarian or vegan.
The farm is a busy happy place 💕

We have a bustling rescue centre where many volunteers come to help out as a team. They will learn about how to treat injuries, basic vet nursing, handling horses, gaining trust, equine nutrition.
We are looking for physically fit volunteers able to help with animals, muck out, water, feed, help with fencing, all the tasks needed on horse farms. A lot of team spirit is needed and the ability to communicate is important.
Good English is essential.

We have a really lovely mobile home for you to stay in, very clean, heated etc. The farmhouse beside it you will have use of the bathroom and shower.
Food will be provided by us, there is always loads of food at the farm for volunteers.
We are all vegetarians and vegans. The farm is a no meat zone.
The opportunity to travel is great. We also have regular buses to the West of Ireland from our nearest village and to Dublin. The area has canal and forest walks but own transport would be advised for real exploration as we are a volunteer based rescue and don't take time off personally.
Great if you have a car but not essential.
