We are a family of five living in a beautiful valley in Karoat, Antalya, surrounded by the Taurus Mountains. In 2019, we began transforming what was once a garbage disposal site into a self-sufficient organic farm. Today, the land has healed and flourishes with almond orchards, our main focus , as well as olives, apricots, peaches, cherries, grapes, apples, and a greenhouse of seasonal vegetables.
What we love most about this place is the harmony between the farm and the mountains. The valley is peaceful yet full of life: chickens roaming freely, our two loyal Turkish Kangal dogs guiding us on forest hikes, and the joy of harvesting food straight from the trees. We are deeply connected to the Mediterranean coast too, spending weekends scuba diving, swimming, or practicing sustainable fishing.
Our family members each play a part in the project: the parents lead the farming vision and daily work with our farm manager, while the children bring creativity through painting, music, reading, and cooking. Together we’ve built not just the land, but also chalets, cabins, and workshops that make this place a home. Workawayers will join us in this rhythm of farming, sharing meals, stories, and ideas, while experiencing both the ancient traditions of the Taurus Mountains and the warmth of our hospitality.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje
Life on our farm is about more than just farming; it’s about community, creativity, and sharing traditions. Workawayers will be welcomed into our family rhythm: joining us for communal meals, storytelling at sunset, and creative workshops where we paint, cook, or make jam together from the fruits of the land. We also have a small cinema for movie nights, a library filled with books collected from family and visitors, and a gym where everyone is welcome to train.
Culturally, you’ll experience a unique blend of Egyptian hospitality and traditions alongside the rich heritage of rural Turkey. We often exchange produce with our neighboring farmers and join them in learning traditional crafts such as Turkish breadmaking, pottery, and carpet weaving. On weekends, we connect with the Mediterranean coast for swimming, scuba diving, or sustainable fishing, and we also hike the mountains with our Kangal dogs to discover caves, archaeological sites, and marble quarries.
In return, we hope to learn from you, your skills, stories, and cultural perspectives. Every Workawayer brings something new to our home, whether it’s farming knowledge, creative arts, or simply sharing how life is lived elsewhere. We see our farm as a place of exchange, where ideas, traditions, and cultures come together to inspire a more connected and sustainable way of life.Proyectos con niños

Ayuda
Our main work is caring for the almond orchards, alongside our other fruit trees (olives, apricots, peaches, cherries, grapes, and apples) and our greenhouse vegetables. Depending on the season, tasks may include watering, weeding, pruning, harvesting, composting, planting, or preparing preserves such as homemade jams. Daily life also involves feeding the chickens, collecting eggs, and helping with general farm upkeep.
We like to begin at daybreak with animal care and collecting vegetables and eggs for breakfast. After breakfast, we focus on tree and garden work, share a healthy lunch together, and in summer take a siesta before returning to the fields. At sunset we gather for a communal dinner, exchanging stories and ideas.
Beyond the daily routine, we also welcome Workawayers who want to share their own skills and ideas in sustainability. If you have knowledge or interest in water conservation, soil health, renewable energy, green building, or other creative practices, we’d love for you to experiment, test, and innovate with us on the farm. We see this as a place to exchange skills, learn from each other, and build something meaningful together.Idiomas

Workawayers will stay in one of our two chalets, each with two private rooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen. In total, we can host up to 4 people comfortably. The chalets are simple but clean and cozy, surrounded by orchards and fresh mountain air from the Taurus valley.
We share meals together as a family, with much of our food coming directly from the farm, fresh eggs from our hens, vegetables from the greenhouse, fruit from the orchards, and homemade jams or preserves. Breakfast is usually gathered that morning, lunch is a healthy and refreshing meal, and dinner at sunset is a communal time for sharing food, stories, and laughter. Workawayers are also welcome to cook in the chalet kitchens if they wish.
The atmosphere here is relaxed and community-focused; we want you to feel at home while also experiencing the rhythm of farm life.Algo más...
During free time, there’s plenty to explore both on and beyond the farm. Our valley is surrounded by the Taurus Mountains, where you can hike with our Kangal dogs as guides, discover hidden caves, marble quarries, and archaeological sites, or simply enjoy the peace of the forest. On weekends, we often head to the Mediterranean coast, where you can swim, scuba dive, or try sustainable fishing. Nearby villages also offer opportunities to meet local farmers and learn traditional Turkish crafts like breadmaking, carpet weaving, or pottery.
For transport, there is a local bus from the nearest village that connects you to Antalya city and the surrounding area. We also have a family 4x4, which we use for farm and family needs, and sometimes for local trips.
Life on our farm follows the rhythm of nature, beginning at daybreak and winding down at sunset. We live simply and sustainably, so we value respect for the land, animals, and each other. We ask that Workawayers bring an open mind, be ready to share skills and ideas, and treat the farm as a home for both people and wildlife. In return, we promise an immersive experience of farm life, cultural exchange, and the beauty of living in harmony with the environment.Un poco más de información
