Availability Fall and Winter
We have lots going on around our little ranch and could really use an extra set of hands getting ready for fall and winter. There is always something to do around here and right now that includes stacking firewood, painting, landscaping, property clean-up and some building and construction projects. We also appreciate help with cooking and meal prep, keeping things around the house caught up and feeding the animals. You certainly don’t need to know how to do everything. If you’re better in the kitchen than with a hammer, that’s perfectly fine with us. We’re especially interested in people who can stay a month or longer, and if everyone gets along and it’s working well, we’re happy to talk about staying longer.
We have young children in our care, so children are part of everyday life around here and an extra set of hands with them is always appreciated. We also have horses, dogs and cats, so you need to be comfortable having animals around. If you love horses, you’re welcome to spend time with ours when you’re not helping. We train our own horses and aren’t looking for a horse trainer right now, so you don’t need horse experience to come stay with us.
You’ll have a Workawayer cabin with bunk beds. We’re off-grid and country living is definitely a little different from staying in town, but we do have electricity and Wi-Fi. We have an outhouse and outdoor shower, and basic groceries are provided for everyday meals. If you have special dietary needs or particular foods you can’t live without, we ask that you bring those yourself. We generally ask for about five hours of help a day, five days a week, with two days to yourself.
We live on First Nations land in Southwestern Ontario and enjoy sharing a little piece of our life and community with people from other parts of the world. Around here you’ll find horses, campfires, forests, conservation areas, beautiful fall colours and plenty of snow once winter arrives. We’re not fancy and we’re certainly not a resort, but if you like country life, animals, kids and don’t mind pitching in where you’re needed, you might really enjoy it here. We don’t allow smoking, vaping, alcohol, marijuana or recreational drugs on the property, and we don’t provide visa support letters. -

Ayuda
Help will be mostly outdoors. Helping with children is our 2026 focus. We are clearing land, building fencing, clearing brush, cutting and stacking wood. Feeding animals. Horse training. If you prefer homemaking just let us know in your message and we will be happy to respect that you’re not into the heavy outdoor tasks. There is something for everyone here! Tell us about your skill set!

We can take you with us when we travel around the province for hockey or other outings. The community is a First Nations Indian Reservation and is fairly rural.
