  We are a family of three and our land is located in southern Portugal in the Alentejo. We moved from Germany to Portugal a few years ago and are currently working on a 2-hectare project that we invite you to help with. Our dream is to create a natural Foodforest. We have set up some of the basic infrastructure such as a solar off-grid system for electricity, a water system for fresh water from one of our wells, a shower and toilet and a simple kitchen für Volunteers.
  
  Our property is quiet and perfect for nature lovers. We have a natural lake where you can swim if enough Water is inside. We also use the lake water to turn our forest garden into a permaculture biotope.
  
  Kerstin is a holistic health and life coach and loves to be creative in the kitchen with the natural foods from the garden. She is responsible for looking after the animals and loves going on donkey walks together.
  
  Artur is a web designer and the one who lovingly holds everything together. He takes care of various building projects such as the renovation of our old clay taipa house.
  
  Joah is almost 8 years old and loves to go on discovery tours. Joah is a project-based learner and is part of a global learning community. He loves nature and the animals here very much. His current favorite activity is taking care of the chickens that help us with composting. He is also interested in gemstones, astronomy and loves to delve into Lego projects. He would like more variety and play partners and loves to meet new people.
  
  The three of us have a genuine interest in other cultures and love meeting people from other countries and cultivating new friendships.
  
  We are also open to other families or couples who would like to join our project for a longer period of time or become co-creators of a larger project that is still in the future.
  
  This is a private homestead and we are not planning to ask for any business related help.

  We enjoy the exchange with other people. We are open to new cultures and languages and share the knowledge we have acquired over the last few years while building our dream life. It would be especially great to learn English or Portuguese from you. If you are interested in holistic health knowledge, Kerstin can teach you a lot. Among other things, she is a medically certified nutritionist, works with essential oils and is very good at taking a holistic approach to life's challenges

  Gardening
  On our property, we have planted a variety of trees to increase plant diversity. We have also planted new vegetable patches to provide us with fresh produce all year round. Tasks in the garden include:
  Tending the vegetable beds
  Weeding
  Mowing the lawn
  Pruning plants
  Harvesting olives in the fall
  Planting trees
  
  Caring for the animals
  Our donkeys leave valuable material for the compost that needs to be collected, they reward you with nice walks and cuddles. They also love to be brushed. As we also keep chickens, we need help with the daily care and feeding of the animals. The chickens also contribute to the compost production for our forest garden, which needs our help from time to time.
  
  Maintenance and DIY projects
  We have lovingly renovated our old adobe farmhouse and now need regular help with maintenance. We are also looking for volunteers who enjoy working with tools and wood to carry out various DIY projects.
  
  Childcare
  Our son enjoys variety and loves to think up projects that he needs help with. Perhaps you are creative or love to be active in crafts or art? Then you would be good Friends.
  
  We love to cook and attach great importance to healthy, mostly vegetarian meals. It makes us happy when we have people who cook with us and enjoy a sustainable diet.

  We have a small tiny house, which is a converted caravan with an attached bathroom. Depending on availability, we can also offer it for workawayers. We also have a tent and an outdoor bed. A shared bathroom and a simple outdoor kitchen are available. You can also help yourself in our vegetable garden and cook together with us

  Depending on which provider you use, the Internet connection is usually good. In bad weather, the connection may be a little slow.

  The plot is flat and can easily be driven on with a camper or caravan. If you have a very high car, e.g. a world tour vehicle, we should clear this individually, as an old cork oak grows on the driveway. Very high lorries may have difficulties with this.
