**IMPORTANT : THE FARM WILL BE CLOSED FROM 15TH MARCH UNTIL 2ND OF APRIL, please do not apply for these dates**

Hello everybody! My name is Pure and I am from Thailand. I was working in animation for many years but then decided to become a farmer and create a vegan permaculture farm in 2015.

The main goal is to become a self-sufficient vegan farm. Our inspiration comes from Thai traditional agriculture but as vegans, we mix traditions with our own values. For example, we are very interested in different phases and positions of the moon before planting and harvesting. We also try to build mostly from natural materials like bamboo, earth and straw.

In addition to farming, we give a few hours of our time on Saturday and Sunday to teach English (basics lessons) to students in the village. It is our way to share with local people our values and the benefits of interacting with so many different cultures.

We are located 6km south of Phayao between the mountains and rice fields. The farm is set on 3 acres of land with food forests and we have vegetable gardens on contour, rice paddies and ponds.

    ------

    FOOD:
We provide 3 vegan meals per day for 240 baht per day. The meals will be made from vegan whole foods, most of the food comes from the farm. Normally we cook lunch and dinners together (around 11:30am and 6pm respectively). With our food, you will learn a lot about Thai-vegan cuisine.

If you don't want to pay, you can buy everything at the market and cook for yourself (but please only bring vegan food onto the land. There are also restaurants around the village.

    ACCOMMODATION:
As a volunteer, you will have a simple accommodation around our beautiful farm (some of houses can be seen in the pictures). They include mosquito nets and bedding that are provided for free. Please bring your own towel, toiletries, and torch (phone flash can also be used).

WORK: We don't have a minimum hours of work but on average, volunteers do 3-4 hours a day. For example, in the morning you can work 1-2 hours, then continue in the afternoon and choose when to take a rest, go for a walk/bicycle ride or do some handcrafts, read, whatever you want.

    BOOKING:
We have switched to the "first-come-first-served" policy because unfortunately a lot of volunteers book in advance and then change their plans last minute. You still can send your request early but please follow up to confirm your interest/exact dates 1-2 weeks before coming and then a couple of days before. We also accept last minute requests if there's any space available, feel free to send us a message.

If you confirm a date of arrival much in advance (2-3+ weeks), please do so only if you are sure you can come, and * please send a message of confirmation again a week before, otherwise we will need to cancel your spot. *
Several people to this day have confirmed early - because they need to make plans and it is understandable - but then did not show up. This means someone else has lost the chance to experience life at the farm.

    COURSES:
We sometimes have guests staying at the farm to do courses. We also host a permaculture farming course (5 days) if there’s enough interest.

    INTERNET:
We do not provide internet but there is a good access via mobile.

GETTING THERE: If you come from Chiang Mai, the easiest is to take a bus in the direction of Phayao with Greenbus company. There is a stop about 10 km before Phayao, which is close to the farm and we can pick you up there.
If you come from Chiang Rai or Bangkok and arrive to the central bus terminal, you can take a scooter taxi. The price will be around 200 bhat.

WASTE MANAGEMENT: We would like the volunteers to be conscious and responsible for their own plastic, bottles and trash because there is no recycling system around here. We appreciate if you can collect your non-biodegradable waste during the stay and take it with when you leave.

------

Please note, that we are not a tourist attraction. We are a functioning farm and would like volunteers to be committed and interested in our philosophy.

To give the volunteers the best experience we are currently taking a maximum of 7-8 people at the same time.

We would prefer to have vegan volunteers at the farm, due to the number of emails we receive and the limited space we have. However, all are welcome so long as you can respect our vegan values whilst on the land.

For many years I have been living this way, I can create, play with everything around, learn by making mistakes, meet many people around the world, and take a rest at any time. It is a nice way to live and I am looking forward to sharing this experience and philosophy with you!
