  💴 Paid Workaway Opportunity – Okinawa, Japan
  
  Hourly wage: ¥900 / hour (legal minimum wage in Okinawa)
  Schedule: 3 hours per day, 5 days per week (15 hours standard per week)
  Days off: 2 day ;can only take max 2 days off a week up the hours during the week.
  
  Accommodation: Free dormitory bed (bunk bed included)
  Food: not included
  
  We’re a friendly, multicultural surf house just steps from the beach in Okinawa. We welcome volunteers who love the ocean, nature, and community life.
  
  ✨ What we offer:
  
  Shared dorm accommodation
  
  Access to surf & ocean activities (surfing, kiteboarding, SUP) is not free—ask directly for details if you want to participate
  
  Opportunity to learn about surfing, kiteboarding & Okinawan life
  
  
  🛠 How you help (3 hrs/day):
  
  Keeping the house tidy (kitchen, bathrooms, dorms, common areas)
  
  Organizing surf/kite/SUP gear
  
  Helping with activities & guests
  
  Gardening & outdoor upkeep
  
  DIY, handyman, painting, creative/media projects (if you have skills!)
  
  Multi-task role: You may be asked to do any tasks needed to run the guesthouse. Flexibility and problem-solving skills are essential.
  
  Tasks are assigned: You cannot choose your tasks; you are expected to do what is assigned.
  
  
  ⏰ Schedule:
  
  Start time: 8:00 a.m. daily
  
  Midday break: It gets too hot during the middle of the day, so work is concentrated in the morning. Tasks are assigned based on priority and cleanliness needs.
  
  
  💡 Important note about food and dietary restrictions:
  
  We do not cook meals for you; everyone prepares their own food.
  
  Vegans/vegetarians: you will have access to ingredients like vegetables, but you still need to cook your own meals.
  
  This position requires adaptability; if you require a very specific diet or complicated arrangements, this may not be the right place.
  
  
  🌊 Surfing & activities:
  
  Surfing, kiteboarding, and other activities are paid separately.
  
  If you want to participate, ask directly about how it works.
  
  This position is primarily for staying in the guesthouse and helping out. If you are not interested in learning surfing or other activities, it may be boring just sitting around.
  
  
  🌺 Community vibe:
  We’re looking for open-minded, respectful people who enjoy teamwork, simple living, and an ocean lifestyle.

  You will be able to go with us on all of our activities and learn how to skin dive, surf and kite board if you are interested! We go all around the island to do these activities and sometimes to secret spots that only locals know, so you'll be seeing a lot more of the island than most tourists do!
  My guesthouse is located in a resort area, so there are many beautiful beaches within walking distance. There is a bus stop within a 5-7 min walk that can take you directly to Naha, Chatan, Yomitan and Nago as it runs on the main road 58.
