I really enjoyed staying with Vicky, Chris and their lovely dog Gissy. As this was my first workaway I was very nervous first, but they welcomed me so warmely and it really felt like home after a while.
Vicky mostly helped me with the work and so it was lots funnier to make the small jobs. She also took me to several beautiful places and shops and

Bethells Beach, Vicki and the rest of the family were a dream first workaway experience! Myself and two other workaways helped clean up the gardens around the house and sleepout, stack firewood, and clean up some of the woodwork inside the main house. All the work was easy enough and fair, and Vicki was working right along side us most of the

In the afternoons, we helped a family friend with beekeeping which was a super cool experience, we took a truck ride up a mountain ridge to take in the view, and spent time down at the beach and the lake which are both within walking distance. Every day we were fed very well in exchange for our 4.5 hours of work with the weekends off. I can’t thank Vicki, Chris, Jessie & Luke for welcoming me into their family for the almost 2 weeks I spent at the house.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

This was our best workaway without a doubt! The family are honest, kind and completely loving and giving in every way. Vicki kept my friend and I fed to the brim with delicious food every hour of the day and her husband Chris took us swimming in the lake, refreshing morning walks in the local wood and even a few shifts at work drain laying! … read more return we helped to maintain tracks around the house, build new ones and chop down trees! We also built a new section of decking around the house and fixed some guttering and leaking problems... I hope they last haha... we also met Jessie, the eldest daughter and bee-keeper of the family and her cool and funny partner Luke. They taught us things about bees which honestly has made me consider a career in the field! We helped paint a few hive roofs! Consequently the house practically had delicious and organic honey on tap! All in all we were treated like family for 6 weeks in their beautiful house in the Bethells hills overlooking the beach and coastline. We can't wait to visit again! Our workeway on Bethells Beach was an amazing experience. It's a realy nice place (you have the beach and a beautiful lake not far to the house).
We stayed 2 weeks in a outhouse (super cool) you even can take an exterior bath heated by wood fire (amazing at night with stars).

Vicki and her family are realy nice and have a big heart, they do anything to make you feel confortable.

We stayed with Vicki for almost 2 weeks in beautiful Bethells Beach and this was our first workaway experience. We enjoyed the surroundings, (the beach as well as the lake) and we were very lucky that we could use Vicki's daughter's car, because it can be quite difficult to get out and about without one.

… read more painting the outside of the house, which was not too hard. What we found difficult sometimes was that it was unclear to us how and how detailed things should be done. In the end we did one side of the house, a few window frames upstairs and a dormer.

I was looking forward to the two week stay with first time Dutch workawayers and their excellent english.
Stien was practical and measured, Claudia willing to learn new skills.

I know Stien enjoyed my cooking and Claudia was always keen to help with the dishes.
They made the most of my daughters car as a run around.
I wish them all the best on further workaway stays and exciting NZ adventures in their new 'pop top' van.

We were lucky enough to try this seasons two week old rice, posted by her family, from their farm and made into the most delicious sushi.
Miwa wants country living, animals, organic, farming in a secure warm environment.

We are 110% sure that this was the absolute best place for us to start our year in New Zealand!

… read more you leave their house before taking you on her cool bare feet-hikes to the lake, sand dunes, beaches, waterfalls or mountains.
But the main highlight of Bethells Beach is located in their halfway-painted house on the top of the hill!
It's always a fun time since it's an open house for friends or family visiting or locals coming by for a coffee. They make sure everyone feels welcomed!
