Hi, my name is Jalam!
We run a family-owned camel safari tour company in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan (recommended by Lonely Planet), and a small hotel. There's a variety of tasks you can help us with: primarily we need assistance with answering emails from potential safari and hotel customers and assisting in the office, but there are also opportunities to help out in the guesthouse, in the villages for those with special skills, and on the camel safari.
Most of the time we provide you with your own room at our hotel, a comfortable double bed to sleep in and your own bathroom (hot shower and western style toilet). During periods of high demand you may be required to stay in a tent on the roof (bedding provided) and to share a common bathroom (pictures of tents provided). Three meals per day are provided. We will also endeavour to give each volunteer one free overnight safari, though this is dependent on jeep availability.
We ask our volunteers to stay for a minimum of two weeks, though we are prepared to be flexible in individual cases. We are especially interested in volunteers who can stay with us for extended periods (from one month to six months) to help out in a customer service capacity in the office and hotel.
Fluency in written and spoken English is a must.

Ayuda
We do a lot of business with English-speaking tourists. Though we can communicate with them in person, it can be difficult to communicate via e-mail. We need people to help us with this task - it's essential for our business to function. We also require support in the office.
We also run a small hotel that we use for departing and returning safari customers. We would appreciate help in cleaning the rooms: this is a daily task in the high season.
We endeavour to enable all our volunteers to go out on at least one camel safari, where, as well as being able to experience camel riding and sleeping at our beautiful dunes, you'll be able to help out with all aspects of the tour from food preparation to cleaning up the campsite to chatting with the tourists. Working in nearby villages is also a potential option. Let us know if you have any specialist skills (eg. healthcare, teaching, web design) that you think might benefit our company and community - we're always open to innovative suggestions.
Food, water and accommodation are provided for free. Duties are varied and your work schedule is usually pretty flexible. Email if you are interested or have any further questions!

You will be staying in a simple, homestay-style accommodation. It is usually a room in the guesthouse but during exceptionally busy periods you might be asked to sleep on the covered roofspace with the staff, and to use a shared bathroom. Plenty of bedding will be provided.

I really enjoyed my 2 weeks here. Delboy, Jalam and all the staff's hospitality was amazing. They always went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable with everything. The work is easy, food excellent and the camel safaris are a great break from a usually hectic India. Recommended.

We had a stellar two weeks working here. They had just moved into the new guesthouse, so we got to help out with cleaning the rooms and meeting some of the first guests. The time with Delboy and his team was just wonderful. The work is pretty easy and in the afternoon you can hang out on the beautiful rooftop. I went to the desert and slept right under the stars. It was an unfogettable night ,just listening to the sound of silience :)

I really enjoyed my two weeks with the guys here. They take very good care of you and you get to experience the camel safaris on a regular basis. The work is very easy and takes little time and it is a a wonderful respite from the rest of frenetic India. The safaris and sleeping in the dunes are alone worth it. A fun and enjoyable experience :)

Delboy and all the team were great. Very nice people who care you very well. I stayed there one month. The room was good, the food was nice (spicy but good), and the job is cool. Enjoying on safaris with customers, and working on computer was nice. I recommend this workaway, definitely.
