Our time with Rosa was delightful. She is a humours, fun, hard working young lady. She was able to work independently and consistent with all The different tasks asked. I had such an amazing time staying at Jen and Weston's. Over the 2 months I stayed I learnt how to milk a cow, fix and put up electric fencing, bottle feed a calf, and loads more. I even had a chance to try cattle sorting which was so much fun and one of the things I had been desperate to try while out in Canada. I was able to ride regularly on my

We went down to the lake cabin for the weekend and went fishing in the lake. Everyone was really good at explaining things if you didn't understand and Jen was a real help sorting out any problems I had (especially trying to sort out my taxes!) But there is quite a bit of working on your own during the day while everyone is at school or work, which is fine as long as you're good on your own and Jen will always answer the phone if you're having problems.
Thank you so much for having me, I had a wonderful time!

I can not describe how amazing my stay at Jens was. I stayed with them for 1 month. The moment I arrived I immediately felt completely accepted and comfortable all the way. The tasks and chores are super versatile and Jen will always be in reach for questions. I got to ride horses, did such things as fence building, cow working and basically

I got to spent thanksgiving with their family, so much time with the children and the evenings sitting in the kitchen after dinner and just talking and having fun are unforgettable memories. Not only the property but also the whole surroundings are beautiful and I really found my inner peace in the stunning Landscape of B.C. I could go on and on about how amazing my stay was. We got a lot of things done, I learned even more and most importantly it felt like a home to me. Jen & her whole family and my co-workawayer Johanna will always have a special place in my heart. Dear Travellers,
we stayed with Jennifer, Derek and the three kids for two weeks in November 2019. They are both hard working and spend most of the day outside working on the field, hunting or in the city to get farm stuff and keep the ranch running. Our tasks were mostly doing daily things that needed to be done around the house. We did lots of

We did not necessarily have planned, actual work hours, but there is always plenty to do and it also makes your day flexible if you have the chance to use a car. We also cared for the small animals and horses. It was surely a lot of fun to play with the little puppy and feed the horses, chickens and dogs. When the kids came back from school, they were always ready to play and were full of energy. We enjoyed taking Anna to her ice skating lessons, taking the horses to Jens horse trainer, learning about different wildlife and spending time outside with the kids. They always get up early and like to start the day pretty energetic, but we got used to the household very fast.
Thank you again for the two chaotic, but lively and honest weeks!!!

I spent 5 amazing months at Jennifer and Derek. I got there by not speaking a word of English, Jennifer and her family were caring from the start. I can't thank them enough for their help.
Jennifer is passionate. I got to know the cows, I saw different cares, to feed them, to move them, Jennifer taught me so much! We rode together and they are
… read more incredible memories.
They taught me how to drive different tractors, it was a crazy experience, they trusted me every moment.
All the family members are extremely kind and welcomed me as a member of their family.
The kids are so adorable, every moment spent at their side are engraved in me.
I will not be able to count the number of giggles that I had with them, it counts for thousands!
I learned about life on a Canadian farm, and this experience changed my life.
They are part of my life now, and are like my second family. I can't wait to see them again.
It is with closed eyes that I recommend them!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Lena, from the very beginning was generous, sweet natured and loving. We were able to connect as family and best of all friends. Our children loved Lena and they all got along extremely well, through the most stressful summers in our region with forest fires, lena was handed my most valuable treasures, our children to take care of with the help of

Lena was outstanding with handling the animals and all their necessities, she was capable to see what needed to be done without instruction and was very helpfu.
We all think extremely highly of Lena and will always consider her part of our family.
Thank you very much!!!

I stayed with Jen and Derek for 5 weeks in August and September. It was my first workaway experience and I was a little bit nervous about it but when they picked me up from the airport, all my worries were gone. They made me feel like coming home from the first minute on. The kids were so welcoming and excited about me being there, I felt
… read more completely included into the family right from the beginning on.
The first days they showed me all the chores that have to be done. It was mostly feeding the animals, watering the flowers and gardens, some cleaning and laundry but there was enough time left to play with the kids on the trampoline, go for a walk with the dogs or go swimming in the very cold but beautiful lake next to the house. As I do some horseback-riding at home, Jen showed me the western way how to do it and I started working the ponies, which was a lot of fun.
The chores changed a bit when some fire-fighters had to stay at the farm in tents due to the wildfires in the area and so we had to cook for them and prepare the lunches. Even though it was a bit stressful, Jen really did an amazing job organising everything for that many people.
In my second week being there, the situation about the fires got more tense and the big mushroom clouds of smoke right behind the house looked so frightening. Unfortunately the fires were threatening the house and so the kids and I had to leave. It really was a heartbreaking situation. We moved to Jen's mum's place and stayed there in a travel trailer. Jen's mum Joyce is a really kind person and did everything for the kids and me to feel comfortable.
One of the best things about my stay in Canada was the fall fair happening in Smithers and I really enjoyed being there with the kids and experiencing all the rides, eating cotton candy and seeing my first rodeo. We really had a fun time there.
When the fires got a little bit more controlled we could move the travel trailer a little bit nearer to the house, which was good so the kids could see their dad again. And there were other families staying next to us and I really was impressed about the good community.
For the last days of my stay Jen organised that me and her could visit some friends of hers to do some horseback-riding and I really appreciate all her effort and enjoyed going on some trailrides. It definitely was the perfect ending for my time in Canada.
All in all I could say that, despite the threatening situations with the fires and the evacuation, I had the time of my life. I experienced so many new things, met amazing people and hopefully this will be the beginning of a lifelong friendship - Jen, Derek and the kids almost feel like a second family to me and I'm looking forward to come back.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.
