Hi there! My name is Kassim, I'm 35 years old, and the project leader. I am married to Bridget (32 years) and together we have a 4-year-old son called Bridger.
The Project is about spreading climate education as well as greening Uganda. So basically, we're planting trees in schools and communities and taking the kids with us by teaching them about climate change and establishing nursery tree beds together with them. So far, we have over 200 schools enrolled in our program, currently rolling out community education and planting sessions. In the program, we move out every day to spread climate education in schools and communities as well as create many nursery beds and transplant many more fruit trees.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje
Your stay with us will be cultural exchange as its best. You will live with me, Kassim Kyepa, my wife, and my son. Every day the team (6 members) comes to the office around 8am to start the day. Then we leave for the schools and communities teamed up with 2-3 people, before we come back to have (traditional Ugandan) lunch and also spend the afternoon together. We also go to many schools every day, so you will meet many more people there and get to talk to the children and teachers (they are always very happy and excited about volunteers!). So you will live, work, and spend a lot of time with real Ugandans and will get a taste of our culture and everyday life. And of course, we're happy to learn about your culture as well.
Plus: You will learn a lot about trees, how to plant and take care of them and if you're open to it, you could even do a climate education session and teach the kids about climate change yourself!Ayuda
The Schools Tree and Climate Education Project is a project that educates and plants trees in schools and communities. So far we have over 200 schools and over 10 communities in the program. We would love to ask you to join our mission of greening Uganda and education on climate change and how to plant fruit trees. You can support us in our daily business, i.e. participate in our morning meeting, travel with us to the schools in the morning to scout or do climate education sessions and establish nursery tree beds. For lunch we all return to the office and in the afternoon there is usually some minor work to be done around the office and the garden.

Our office has an office room, a dining room, a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a garage, a small storage room and a big garden. In the normal case, you should have 1 room and 1 bathroom for yourself unless there are other volunteers around. In total, we can manage to host 4 volunteers in 2 rooms with 4 cozy and comfortable beds. Bed sheets are provided, but you have to bring your own towels.
meals will be provided as part of the exchange for the help rendered by workawayers by preparing local dishes this can be a unique and attractive experience. Breakfast we have coffee and an accompaniment (bread or any other preferred) with a sweet banana. For lunch meals we have maize flour prepared, we also have rice, matooke and irish potatoes. sauce we have beans prepared very well, vegetables such as spinach, cabbage, lettuce and also sometimes beef as sauce. dinner we sit down and decide on what we should have.Algo más...
We do have a lot of sites where workawayers can spend their time off like the source of river Nile ,busowooko falls, rafting on the Nile and many more and the means of transport is boda boda for quick travel.

You are getting 3 meals a day, internet connection is stable even though we highly recommend to work via your own hotspot as the hotspot still trumps wifi router in Uganda. :-)
Espacio para aparcar autocaravanas
We have a big garden where we are growing lots of different vegetables but also many trees in our nursery beds. Your vehicle will have enough space to be parked on the compound. The compound is fenced and has a big gate.
Podría aceptar mascotas
We love animals, excluding cows and goats as those are eating up our freshly transplanted seedlings too often. :-)
