… read more enjoyed spending time with them and felt comfortable in my position as a big brother. I was closely integrated into the family and even decided to stay over Christmas. There is Nigel, who is always ready for a good joke, and Antonia who goes out of her way to make you feel at home. Additionally, I had the pleasure of meeting some of their neighbours and grandparents, who were all very friendly and welcoming.
I spent most of the day outside, looking after the many animals, walking the dogs on the beach (I miss that so much ☹) and playing with the children. The tasks are not too overwhelming and the surroundings and especially the nearby beach are beautiful. That’s why I regularly went swimming in the sea in the mornings, I would probably have done that even more so in summer.
If you like to be with children, animals and being out in nature, this is the place for you. I always was there with another Workawayer, which is a great opportunity for lots of fun conversations and trips. It is rural, but a bicycle is always available and buses to Dunmore (20 min per bike), Tramore and Waterford are there also.
I really hope to see them again soon.

… read more example chatting a bit in the kitchen in the evenings or during our lumchtimes. They took me to their family trips and thereby I really dived into the Irish culture. Furthermore I saw a lot of cool spots in Ireland that they showed me.
I was there during the summer, so we went swimming almost every day and I really enjoied that.
Nigel Also took us with him to his boat to go fishing from time to time, that was so cool!
The children are very lively and kind so it is always a lot if fun to look after them and they made me become part of their little chaotic group.
The work was very exciting too because you have a lot of different little things to do, it won't get boring. It really was working with a view, right next to the sea. If you love animals, you're at the right place here.
It sometimes was a bit too much work when I was alone without another workawayer but normally there are two of you, I just worked alone for 10 days.
Like Antonia says in the Profile, it is on the countryside but you have a bycicle that you can use so you can go to the city in your freetime or just cycle around through the nature.
All in all it was an incredible time and I miss the family and the work there.

I immediately felt really welcome, the three girls are very sweet and I got along with them well, even though I don't have a lot of experience with smaller children. Toni took me and the other Workaway staying with me to nice trips to see the country and I could make great memories.

… read more found the work with the animals to be very rewarding and relaxing, though it can be a bit exhausting if you're not used to working outside every day. I didn't have any previous experience with sheep, but I got used to working with them very quickly. The house is located in the countryside just above the beach, which was great for going on walks with the dogs or on a bike ride to the next town.
The only thing that irked me a bit is that the house was quite messy, which took some time getting used to.

All the animals are very cute and friendly. To look after them isn't too hard work. Between feeding and cleaning in the mornings and the evenings you play with the children and you have the chance to explore the beautiful surrounding area and to go horse riding on the lovely horses.

So. I think overall it was a really good experience for me, and I found what I was looking for. There is one thing that people should take in mind before going there, and it's made clear in the description so it's a quite obvious one, and it's that you become part of a family. For the good and for the bad things, every family has it's
… read more rules and so on, and you either share them or not. There is no way around it, and that's the same for every family, it doesn't matter if it's here, or as Au Pair, or somewhere else.
Summer is awesome, they take you to different places, either by car or with the bicycles, the weather is nice and you live next to the beach, so you can also go there and so on. They also live on the southeast of Ireland so they get the best weather of the country. It doesn't rain as much, and even though Irish people tend to whine about the weather I though it was great, even when it rained the drops were warm so it's not like you will freeze.
In regards to the animals, I would recommend someone with previous experience with animals (not necessarily sheep), because even though they will teach you it is a lot of information at first, and I didn't know anything beforehand so I had to keep asking all the time because of that. The possibility of making a mistake is there, and you are not a professional, so don't worry about that.
The sheep are awesome, specially the black Valais ones. They are so fat and fluffy, it's awesome. In regards to the horses, there is not much to say, except that there is one called Luxy who is a really nice horse, but he's also an asshole, he was taking down my fence every day 😂.
The biggest kid wanted my attention sometimes, you just have to learn how to act with her. She's a really good girl so if you tell her she will understand :). I also tried teaching sarcasm to the middle one, and it was really funny xD. The small one is really funny too, I loved making her laugh.
A downside of playing with the kids is that you will have to stay in the playroom sometimes, and it's a heated room. Now, it sounds all fine and dandy till you see that after eating with that warmness you get sleepy. It was so hard to keep being awake during those times.
I would say the best thing overall is that you can speak with the mother openly, she's really upfront and you can express yourself and your worries, etc. And the only downside is that you don't have fully free days so it can get quite tiring after a long period of time, specially in winter.
Other than that, they are good lads, the mom cooks really well, and you can make dirty jokes with the father, which is awesome to be honest.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

In my free time I did go for a walk with the three dogs quiet often or I took a horse for a hack. In summer you can also go for a swim when the tide is in. It’s amazing to live right next to a beach. Tony also took me to some very nice places like the cliff walk in Dunmore East or Kilkenny.
Tony and Nigel really care about their workawayers, you won’t be just someone, who is working on their farm, you will be a part of their lovely family. I wish I could have stayed longer with this wonderful people, they have become a second family for me.

I stayed for two weeks at Tony´s and Nigel´s farm with their lovely family, it was a great time!
When I arrived at their place, I was hugged by little Rosalie and I felt right at home. The house and especially my bedroom were absolutely cool, the view of the sea was breathtaking.

… read more horses to feed. My daily routine was to feed and to look after the animals and to clean the stables. Most of my freetime I spent with going to the beach with the three dogs and explore the area. A round billiard in the evening completed a beautiful day. The three kids were very lovely but also a bit chaotic ;) , spending time with them was always funny. The last day I had the opportunity to ride one of their blackforest draughs and go on a hack to the beach, absolutely amazing! That had made it even harder for me to leave earlier than planned cause of covid19, I hope I can visit them again one day.
I had a short but great time and I am very grateful that I was able to meet such nice people.

There was no time to be bored at this farm! The work consisted in taking care of all the beautiful animals they have, the sheep, goats and horses, walking the dogs and minding the girls and playing with them. A lot of time is spent outside, which is great because the surroundings are stunning. The house has a beautiful view of the sea and everything around is green. We went for walks in the beach with the dogs and Alma, spent time with the horses and went for a couple of hacks with them and even for a drive with the cart! I can say that here I've ridden the most comfortable horse ever, dear Nelly who is just amazing. The place is great to go for long walks, and there was always someone to drive us to town if we wanted to in our spare time.
Tony prepares delicious food and it was really nice to share the meals with the family and chat about the day or our lives. While living with them I also got to meet some neighbors and grandparents, all of them very kind and warm.

Most of the work you are doing is looking after the animals which are all gorgeous. A lot of my freetime I spent with going to the beach, for a hack or in a pub in the evening, there is so much you can do. Tony even gave me the opportunity to go for a swim into the sea with the horse Nelly which was amazing! One of my favourite moments was also when Tony asked me if I wanted to have a lamb named after me, coolest thing ever!
Being around Rosalie, Hazel and Alma never gets boring. You just got to love them. I always had so much fun playing with them. Tony and Nigel are two of the nicest and funniest people I have ever met and they always make you feel like you are part of the family.
Also I got to meet so many amazing people like grandparents, neighbours and other Workaway (with two of them I even went for trips to Cork and Kilkenny).

Furthermore I enjoyed the work, which was not too hard or complicated. You spend a lot of time outside with animals and get some exercise (which was very useful for me, because Tony is a great cook ;))
But the best of all was the family: Tony and Nigel are absolutely nice, caring and funny and always try to make you feel at home and have a good time. You can come to them whenever you need something and they will try to manage. From the first day I felt very welcome and was always invited to spend time with the family. Their three girls are gorgeous and made me laugh a lot. It´s never boring with them around and you have to love them.
I also got in touch with other people around there, like neighbours and grandparents. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

This family is quite wunderful. From the first moment I felt welcome and home. I stayed for five weeks during the summer and I had an amazing time. The work with the animals and on the farm has been so much fun. If you want to stay with nice, friendly and funny guys at a beautyful place you have to go to this family.

Simone was the greatest helper you can possibly get! She did her work self-dependent and unrequested, since she was managing our household and our animals all on her own. The place is just Absolutely awesome and if u like animals and nature it's just perfect there.
