Two places available now.
I am Janet. I live in a beautiful rural area in County Cork Ireland.
Horses and Ponies are out passion and our life. I work as a riding Instructor and also breed and produce young Horses.
My Daughters have Horses that they compete In Show Jumping/ Eventing and showing. My adult sons are Jockeys. The boys live at their Dads racing and sport horse yard. The girls spend some time in both places.
There will be an opportunity to ride , for those who are experienced. ( able to ride a young horse ) Workaways can accompany us to watch at competitions and assist if capable.
Help is needed with the general house hold tasks and cleaning. Some Cooking.
Hedging/ weeding/ spraying weeds/ sweeping many areas.
Washing vehicles and cleaning inside.
There may be regular house hold chores, though some will generally be doing outside tasks.
Tidying, cleaning, some power washing and painting and organising storage areas, help take items to recycling. Lots of reorganisation, so that more space is fit for purpose and there is a lot less clutter around .
For those with equestrian experience they can also help with the horses.
We have 3 dogs. One comes in the lorry to competitions.
NOTE: We live in the countryside, 5km form the Village of Meelin, which is the Highest Village in Ireland. It is 8km to the nearest town of Newmarket, Co.Cork. If youhave your own car, this is an ideal base to explore and sight see from. We are an hour from Cork City, Limerick City, Tralee in Kerry and Cahir in Tipperary.
There are NO busses passing our house, I would however be able to drop you to the Bus in Newmarket or Freemount sometimes. This is an opportunity to suit, someone who is happy in a rural location. Suitable for someone who enjoys peace and quiet. The road is quite enough to walk and run on it. The local Pub in Meelin (5km) is a popular place. People travel from surrounding areas to go there. They show matches and races on the big screen, and have music some weekends.
We are NOT near the City. This is NOT a tourist area. If you have your own Car this would be an advantage.
An interest and experience with horses is an advantage but not essential. -

Oppertunity to Ride ponies/ horses for EXPERIENCED , CAPABLE riders only. Great opportunity to be immersed in an Equestrian family. Ideal for someone who also needs time to study. Experience living in a very beautiful and peaceful area in rural Ireland, ideal area to walk/jog/run. (NOT for a City person or someone who wants to be in a tourist area .). If you do like time to yourself, and just being is a peaceful and rural area this location will suit you. .When there are horses ready, I attend competitions. . You can come for some days out to the competitions with us. We are only half an hour from Millstreet and will travel to the International Horse show and International events there.

In the house there is cleaning and tidying, sweeping/ washing floors, vacuuming, and laundry.
Some cooking. Outside there is also sweeping and tidying.
Help is needed with the general house/ yard .
Currently I need help to tidy and reorganize some rooms in the house and in the sheds to make things function better.
There maylbe regular house hold chores.
Tidy, Clean, organize and make some spaces inside and out fit for purpose again.
help take items to recycling.
Power hosing yard and walls. Preparing for and painting railings/ poles / walls. Hedging/ weeding/ Sweeping. Various other outside chores too.
You need to be happy to work on your own as well as with others. -

Small Apartment located over the family home, accessed by outside steps. Small kitchenette - Fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, Hob, Air fryer.. Toilet/shower. Bedroom with 2 beds which will be shared with another helper at times. There is a wardrobe, two chests of drawers. Radio. TV. DVD player. Selection of DVD,s and books. .

Note. It is NOT possible to bring your own dog or any other pet. If you are interested in Horses, this is a great place to be. For EXPERIENCED/ COMPETENT riders, there will be some oppertunity to ride. We go to various competitions many Sundays and often during the week too in the Summer months. Previous girls have got to go to see the International Show and International Event on Several Days in Millstreet/ Ballindenisk/ kilguilkey. and also have got to watch other National Events.
This is a rural location, so will suit someone who likes living in the country side. You will need to be happy on your own, as there are times when I only have one workaway. The roads are quiet, so ideal for Walking/ jogging/ running. There is beautiful scenery.
There is a bus to Mallow / Cork from the local town of Newmarket. Also a bus from Freemount. I could drop and collect you on some days off. It would then be possible to connect to many areas and two days off together can be arranged if you wish to travel somewhere.
NO SMOKERS. NO DRUG USERS. -
