Hello,
Welcome to stay with us! We are looking for volunteers who can join us in our hobby, with dogs, outdoor activities and other helpon our small farm. We have 17 Siberian Huskies, who are part of our family and who we use in traction all year round. The dogs are bred with a focus on long-distance running, and we have litters almost every year!
I would like to clarify that we are not running a commercial business – this is just a personal hobby.
Our home is a small farm in Furnes, near Hamar, in the middle of Norway. We spend a lot of time outdoors, exploring nature and going on hikes. We also have a cabin in the mountains that we often go to.
We are an active family consisting of parents in their 50s and our 18-year-old son who lives at home. We also have an extended family with children and grandchildren. Rigmor (mother) works as a general manager in a kindergarten and Per Olav (father) works as a fuel manager in the municipality. Dogs are our lifestyle and hobby!
The help will involve taking care of the dogs, feeding them, grooming them, gardening and general maintenance help around the farm.
We offer a private room for our volunteers.
If you are interested in experiencing life with our huskies and enjoying the beautiful Norwegian nature, we would love to hear from you.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

The help will involve assisting with caring for the dogs, including feeding, grooming, and participating in training sessions, as well as helping with general tasks around the smallholding.
We are looking for independent and positive individuals who may not have prior experience with dogs but are eager to learn, enjoy challenges, and love animals and nature. You will always do tasks alongside us, receiving guidance and support throughout.
We also hope you will take part in our family life and activities, sharing experiences and enjoying time together both indoors and outdoors.Idiomas

We are happy to teach you some Norwegian and would love to improve our English in return. We’re also very interested in learning other languages such as French, German, Spanish, Italian, and more – so if you speak any of these, we’d love to exchange!Alojamiento
We offer a private room for our volunteers and have a car available by arrangement. Dinner will be provided every day, but you will need to arrange other meals/food (dry goods) yourself. We supply bedding, towels, and cleaning supplies. There is also access to a washing machine. We provide the necessary equipment for outdoor activities, but you should bring your own clothing suitable for outdoor activities.
Algo más...
In your free time, you can relax in our peaceful countryside setting, explore the nearby forests, or take a walk around our many apple trees and garden. We are located just 10 km from the town of Hamar, which offers a variety of amenities including a swimming pool, cinema, cultural center, shops, and cafes. Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake, is also close by and perfect for swimming, fishing, and boating in the warmer months.
Public transportation options include regular buses to and from Oslo (about one hour away) and local routes connecting to Hamar and surrounding areas, making it easy to explore the region.
We also often visit our mountain cabin where you can experience authentic Norwegian nature – with opportunities for hiking, fishing, berry picking, and dog sledding in the winter.
We are a playful family who love humor and enjoy staying active. Rigmor enjoys knitting, focusing on healthy eating, yoga, and meditation. Per Olav loves fixing things, so there are plenty of practical skills and tips to learn here. We all like to train and stay fit, and our son is passionate about golf.
Whether you want to spend time outdoors, discover local culture, or simply enjoy quiet moments, there is plenty to do and see.Un poco más de información
