Hi there!
My name is Zoe. I am 25 years old and I live in Chicago, Illinois in the United States. I loved my last Workaway experience (was as a 'duo' with an old friend and we couldn't figure out how to separate it!) so I created a new profile.
A bit about me...I am a lover of lying down in the grass. I care deeply about creating a world in which all living beings are free from suffering. I also care deeply about expanding my world and engaging in experiences that bring fresh perspectives to my life. I am on a journey of regulating my nervous system and seeking out opportunities that help me find peace and presence in my body.
I am also very adventurous!...but that's gotten me into some tricky situations. Currently, I'm more interested in peace, calm, and deep love than I am in a wild rush of excitement.
In my life in Chicago, I work as a pianist and bartender at a piano bar. (Like in the song Piano Man...a lot of it rings true). I also perform my own original music around town and in the region.
I am coming back to Workaway because I am feeling a little stuck in my life in the city. I want to get out of Chicago, into nature, and be immersed in helping someone with a project and learning something new about the world.

A couple of years ago, I WWOOFED on a small farm in Puerto Rico for about a month. We hand-planted basil, dug drainage trenches, mulched the trees, and so on...I am comfortable with heavy manual labor as well as more delicate tasks.
As far as other types of manual work - I enjoy painting (houses) and really like fixing things around the house that can be figured out with a YouTube video and a couple of patient hours! I like to figure things out and am very curious about understanding how things work mechanically.
I am a decent chef, and was vegetarian for 10 years so am well versed in meat alternatives.

As mentioned, I am a musician and am hoping to bring my guitar to wherever I stay. I would like to be able to play guitar and sing when not working - please let me know if that sounds like it might be an issue. I will of course respect any quiet hours.
