  • Description

Hi!! 💖 My name is Violet (Hunter is still my legal name), and I am super excited to start traveling again! I’ve been living in Tucson, Arizona for the past six years, and haven’t had much ability to travel outside of our local area (which has been lovely, there is so much beauty here in Arizona, Mexico, Colorado, and California!). I love learning about other languages and cultures. Humans have shown ourselves capable of making such a diversity of art, food, music, architecture, culture, ideas, and language, and I can’t wait to expand my experience of these. I particularly love food and trying new cuisines!

I have participated in a few Workaway/WWOOF opportunities before, although it’s been many years now. I volunteered on a permaculture project in Denmark, where I helped construct a yurt and outfit a compost toilet. I lived on an eco-commune in Spain for a year and a half, where I took care of donkeys and ducks, practiced permaculture gardening, maintained the land, cared for an orchard of hundreds of trees, performed small carpentry-related tasks, and practiced foraging. I also helped out on a horse farm and dog rescue in California. At my home now, I have a garden and chickens, and am skilled at growing fruits and vegetables, and irrigation systems.

I currently work as a legal assistant with an organization called the Florence Project (firrp.org), where I work with migrant children in government detention. We provide free legal representation and help kids get legal status here in the U.S. I love working with kids, and so staying with families with kids is a plus for me!

I firmly believe in a world without borders, and that people should be allowed to live where they want. I am passionate about social justice in general, and political activism. In my travels, I would love to learn more about communism, socialism, anarchism, and people’s movements in general.

I am transfeminine, non-binary, and queer, and so it is very important that you are accepting and supportive of LGBTQ+ people. 🏳️‍🌈

What more? I love animals, plants, wild nature, mountains, music, poetry, and dance. I play guitar and write poetry from time to time, and would love to share creative experiences with you 💖.
