Hi there! I’m Vanessa and after traveling in New Zealand and Australia for awhile I’m excited to be heading to Japan soon!

My ultimate goal is to learn skills that will help me live more self-sufficiently —whether it's gardening, farming, fishing, carpentry, natural medicine etc. I’m currently training to be an herbal educator and I’m eager to deepen my knowledge of herbs and mushrooms. I have a wide range of interests like hiking, foraging, rock climbing, reading,.. also I'm always excited to be around animals! Nothing makes me happier than meeting people who share my enthusiasm and passions, to be learning from one another and well, just inspire to aspire :)

I approach life with an enthusiastic “let’s give it a go” attitude and cherish the chance to live simply, care deeply and build meaningful connections. I'm looking forward to new adventures and learning opportunities!

My previous jobs where in hospitality, where I worked as a waitress, chef as well as in human ressource. In my last job I worked as a climbing and bungy guide in Austria :)

Through volunteering I was able to gain following experiences:
- Landscaping in Australia
- Landscaping and gardening in New Zealand
- House and cat-sitting in France
- Tiling bathrooms, hallways,… as well as murals in Costa Rica
- Hostel work in Costa Rica
- sanding, painting and building furniture in Costa Rica and Panama
- Child care in Guatemala
- Communal off-grid living in Guatemala, including cooking for large groups

I consider myself a quick learner, so I’m ready to jump in to help wherever I can and learn the skills needed along the way
