  • Description

I feel happy when I am breathing deeply and connecting to the richness all around- in the trees, sky, water, ground, in books, music, art, conversation, in the mind, the body, the heart. I feel happy when judgement is faraway and I can feel this moment completely.

At this moment, I am motivated to connect as deeply as possible with the wisdom in the body and the Earth. My restless, scared and rationalising mind needs a rest. And Earth needs service and protection! My wish to see ecological and cultural healing in my country, Aotearoa, motivates me to seek skills of regenerative farming, sustainable food production, and a deeper knowing of the land.

  • More details about your skills

I have integrity, a good brain, good fitness, and an earnest energy to commit myself to work/service/skill-learning.

My farm experience in particular is practically nil... well, I've grown some lettuces and herbs and brassicas in pots at my flat... but my passion to learn should make up for that! Learning to grow my own food and maintain land sustainably have become very important for me as I have come to understand how crucial such skills for the future of the planet...

My professional experience since my schooling years has mainly been in care-giving roles, which I moved towards out of a desire to connect personally and provide immediate support to people in need. I have cared both for a non-verbal autistic 10 year old boy and a 92 year old lady with mobility issues, early onset dementia and pretty brutal anxiety. These roles have strengthened my capacity to attune to people, manage complex needs and routines, and think on my feet in all those unpredictable moments of stress that coming with caring for people with high needs. I consider myself highly patient, empathetic, practical and adaptable.

My years of schooling certainly left me with a strong work ethic, stamina and ability to focus, given the rate at which I was achieving- I did 7 extra scholarship exams and was the Dux in my last year of high school...

Also I practice mindfulness and yoga basically on the daily. That probably makes me a little more skilful than otherwise :)
