Hi there ! I am Tess from Sydney, Australia.
I am a student currently travelling for 7 months after deciding to postpone my Marine Biology/Global Studies degree. I have always held a fascination for exploring cultures and ways of life beyond the one I grew up in and believe immersing myself in authentic experiences such as workaways will aid my ability to connect to people in my dream future career of conservation and non-for profit aid.
After travelling solo last year around Europe, I have now embarked first visiting Sri Lanka, Morocco, Greece and Albania with plans to visit Turkey, the Balkans area and Nepal in the near future ! I am an avid outdoor adventurer, with a keen love of hiking and animals and an eager interest to learn further about permaculture, eco-farming and food production.
Throughout my past experiences and jobs, I have been commended for my proactiveness and hard-working nature and can assure a hands-on and open-minded approach to any tasks or challenges thrown my way!

Despite being a new member to the Workaway community, I have gained experience and knowledge through alternative opportunities such as; learning about animal healthcare and maintenance at a vet practise, gaining knowledge and skills about environmental health, sustainability and research methods of both land and aquatic ecosystems within my university degree and pride myself in a strong understanding of waste management and textile recycling after producing a textile line of clothes made from recycled bridal fabrics.
