Hi there, my name is Sophie and I am a New England (Northeastern US), ocean-loving lady at heart!

I'm a relatively recent graduate (class of 2020) and studied Anthropology and Psychology. My family is very dear to me, however, I have always longed to travel and I believe the best time to do that is now.

I am fascinated by people, animals, nature, and books. In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with friends/family, exploring, hiking, painting, or listening to music.

My goal in joining work away is to travel outside my comfort zone (figuratively and literally) and to expose myself to new people, cultures, and surroundings. I hope to build relationships and community with those I meet!

I would love to learn another language! I took French in school, so I have a bit of knowledge in that. I am would really like to learn Italian and am starting to learn basic greetings. I feel like everyone is probably sick of English, but I would be happy to share whatever you'd like to know :)

Currently I am a bookseller, so I have experience interacting with many people each day, problem solving, and organization. In the past, I worked in the office at a summer camp. I have practiced communication in all forms--email, phone, face-to-face, etc. I like meeting new people and making them feel welcome in a space.

I love animals and have experience in dog-sitting and working with horses.
I've also enjoyed taking care of my niece and nephew (ages 5 and 3! :) )

With my coursework in school, I developed research and writing skills.

Lastly, I grew up taking piano lessons and still love to play here and there when I can.
