Aloha!
My name is Samantha and I'm a 23 year old travel lover from Hawaii. I have roots in the U.S. and in the Netherlands and as such speak English and Dutch. I've also learned Spanish from my partner Yoel. We are learning French together. My dream since I was a kid has been to visit every continent. I love meeting new people and exploring new worlds, cultures, and tastes. My partner and I are planning on traversing through the Americas; making friends and helping in any way we can with new projects. I studied international relations and am taking some time to learn about the world in a hands on way before I get a masters in a field relating to sustainability and/or social/international development. I'd love to work with NGOs and learn more about sustainable agriculture.

Tengo 25 años y soy Peruano. Me encanta viajar y compartir, Cada lugar que he visitado lo recuerdo con mucho cariño y nostalgia, pero como decimos en mi pais "Pa' lante". Me gradue en economía y me apasiona la música, las artes, las caminatas al aire libre y los animales. He participado en voluntariados realizando trabajos sociales como brindar clases académicas a niños y jóvenes, también he dado clases de guitarra grupales y llevado ayuda a zonas rurales de mi país. En general, comulgo con las ideales de sostenibilidad y desarrollo.
Actualmente estoy interesado en aprender Francés y conocer cada rincón del mundo esperando combinar mis habilidades y mi pasión por el trabajo comunitario.

We are in the beginning of stages of learning French. We'd love to expand our language abilities in French or in an indigenous language. Learning languages helps us understand each other and the other's culture. We are open to learning whatever you are able to teach us. Samantha is a native English speaker and Yoel is a native Spanish speaker. We have been each other's language teacher and can help you too!

Hi, nice to meet you! We are Samantha (from the USA) and Yoel (from Peru).

Samantha has been an English teacher for two years teaching primarily to children in China and in Latin America. While she enjoys it, her true passion is environmental related NGO work. She enjoys helping others and caring for people and animals. She has experience in designing websites and posters. She has also spent time gardening and learning about sustainable agriculture. She'd like to learn bioconstruction techniques and indigenous cultural practices. Samantha is vegan and loves cooking. She's been able to transform some traditional dishes into veggie friendly dishes. She is hardworking and enjoys seeing the outcomes of successful projects.

Yoel recently finished specialising in data science after finishing his bachelor' degree in Economics. While able to analyze data and work with computers, he is also a skilled artist. Yoel has experience working with drones and capturing beautiful images. While he knows how to edit photos, he would like to learn more about photography. Yoel plays the guitar and ukulele as well. He would be interested in teaching others to play. He likes drawing and painting. He could paint a caricature mural or do simple wall paintings and other handyman jobs. Like Samantha, he enjoys being in nature and is able to do gardening work. Yoel is dedicated and preservers through any challenges that come his way. He is a problem solver and team player.

We would both like to help you in any way we can and are quite flexible.

What else ...

We love board games! Yoel and Samantha frequently play chess. We also like to play Catan and various card games. We have traveled to multiple cities in Peru while going on hikes and trying new food. We aren't surfers but do enjoy a lovely beach day and having adventures.

Samantha runs in her free time and enjoys reading books (though has many in her collection still unread). She is looking forward to finding a place to relax and curl up with a story. She loves cats and misses hers at home. She used to volunteer at a shelter every weekend.

Yoel likes playing basketball and listening to music. He dances in his free time and has taught Samantha the salsa and marinera. He enjoys learning new things and would like to learn a new instrument. He likes working with kids and animals. He has a puppy at home.
