Description
Hii you! My name is Sophie, an open-minded, optimistic, empathic and active girl from the outskirts of Vienna in Austria. I'm 19 years old and currently doing a Gap Year between school graduation & university. I'm currently travelling New Zealand until the beginning of May.

Values like environmental awareness, honesty and equality are really important to me. I'm always down for various kinds of sports like running, hiking, yoga, surfing, skiing and diving. I laugh a lot and enjoy cooking sessions and conversations with friends. Since I'm a trained kindergarten teacher I love to be surrounded by people, especially children. I’m passionate about spending time in the nature/with animals, writing, photographing, being creative and stepping out of my comfort zone.

I’m not quite sure where this journey will take me yet, but I’m looking forward to learning new things and getting to know people from all around the world.

I would consider myself as a empathic person with a big heart for other people, animals and the planet. During my education for finishing my A-levels and simultaneously becoming a kindergarten teacher I got to improve my soft skills like problem-solving, adaptability and team work. Additionally I have worked for a children entertainment company where I got to provide musical and rhythmic education for children. I also have experience with caring for animals, doing creative, sustainable projects and organising events. Furthermore I got to do an internship at the EU Parliament in Brussels, which brought me to gain some knowledge in matters of international coordination and communication.

This was my first workaway experience and I couldn't be luckier! I felt welcomed and appreciated by the family. If I wanted to have a nice chat, there was always someone to talk to. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting Sophie. She is a good time keeper, worked in well with our family and other volunteers. She also worked to a high standard completing tasks in the garden and house keeping inside. It is worth noting the Sophie is an exceptional cook. Thanks Sophie.
