Hi there ,
Thanks for taking your time to read our profile. :)
We are a small family of three. Jonas (36), me - Sophie (35) and our son Kurt (2,5 yrs).
Currently, we live in a small town in the center of Germany. In the last years we've often felt the need for a change- especially in terms of location. Since we love traveling and exploring, and as long as Kurt is not yet of school age, we want to use the next months or even years for a little adventure.
Most recently Jonas and I both worked at a Café (where we taught ourselves basic barista skills and have developed a little passion/maybe also a bit of an obsession ;) for good coffee.
I have more or less 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry. I started waitressing when i was 18
also held a managing position for quite a few years and gained experience working in the kitchen. Also I’m a bit of a foodie - I really enjoy cooking and baking.
I actually studied architecture but never really worked in the field, except for a few years in exhibition design.
I’ve also travelled a fair bit in my life and have some Au-pair experience (one year in the UK and one year in Australia). I’m happy to look after children any age and help around the house wherever it is needed. I don’t have much experience in proper gardening but thats something I would love to learn more about.
Jonas studied drums in France. He can play numerous instruments and is open to teaching how to play the piano, drums or guitar (or almost any other instrument) or simply learning to read sheet music. He also has experience as a stonemason if that can be of any help for you. He has a wide range of interests - also worked in sales for several years and is currently studying Business Informatics at a distance learning university.
Kurt is a happy little guy, can be a bit sensitive at times. He's not much of a daredevil, but he thinks he is :D
He is a sweet, caring boy and interested in a lot of things, currently mostly occupied with his jigsaw puzzles and fingerpaints. He’s a big fan of singing and gets excited about anything that’s big and has wheels. Kurt is used to other kids as he’s in daycare a few hours 5 days a week. He likes animals but never lived with one since we and our closer relatives don’t own any pets.
We try to source local produce where possible and eat healthy, wholesome meals. Kurt doesn’t tolerate diary very well (I know, that’s a bit unfortunate living in Ireland ;) )
We like being outdoors and explore but also know how to keep ourselves entertained staying at home. Jonas likes a good chat and interacting with other people. I'm the calmer one of the two of us and a bit more reserved, but also fun to be around once I feel comfortable. :) We're both easy-going and very reliable.
We're both pretty much fluent in English (Jonas has spent some time in the US) and would definitely pick it up again quickly once we're back in an English-speaking country.
We're open to any kind of work—paid or unpaid—as long as it's the right fit. We'd be happy to contribute by bringing in our talents and qualifications. We're not particularly keen on taking care of too many animals, Unfortunately Jonas is allergic to some cat breeds.
We’d love for Kurt to learn English and have a fun time, and it’s important to us not to work endless hours so that we can still spend quality time with Kurt.
Ideally we would love to stay close to the sea - it can be rural area or in the city. We don’t have any special specific family constellation in mind - happy to live with other kids, couples or also a single person. A minimum stay of 2-3 months would be great anytime from January-July 2026
We can both drive if required.
Looking forward to hearing from you. See you soon!Interests
