Hello all! My name is Skye and I am 27 years old, living in Seattle, Washington. I am so excited to dive into some travels in late summer/throughout the fall. I am looking for some adventure, self-discovery, and a moment of pause during a transitional moment of life.

I am going to graduate school in January to pursue my masters degree in counseling on the journey to become a therapist. My undergraduate degree was in psychology and education/social justice, and I am very excited to return to school to delve further into my passion for holistic mental health support.

I have worked with children and youth for the last 6 years in a variety of settings, ranging from behavioral support centers, outdoor education, counseling/mentorship in schools, and most recently in early childhood waldorf education.

I derive motivation and joy from many creative pursuits, including dance, playing music, writing poetry, and drawing/painting. I am passionate about community building, mental health, connecting to nature, and practicing open and compassionate communication.

Before I did my undergraduate degree, I spent a year traveling and did both wwoofing and workaway. I can't wait to circle back around to this wonderful way to travel and experience new environments.

Travel Volunteering:
- Volunteering in an intentional community in Russia for a month in high school
- 3 months wwoofing on a permaculture farm in Maui, 2.5 months working at a community event center in Scotland (housekeeping, landscaping, gardening)
Youth Work:
- 4 years of babysitting throughout college
- therapy assistant at behavioral support center for children
- counselor at several creative arts summer camps for high school youth
- mentor / counselor at middle school (AmeriCorps year)
- lead outdoor education teacher for k - 3rd grade students
- teacher at early childhood waldorf school for preschool / kindergarten students
