Hi, I'm Sev :)
I'm currently taking a gap year after studying towards a Medicine degree for the last 3 years. I've been working full-time in the hospitality sector for the past year, and now I'm looking for a change of pace. I'm hoping to find something rural and peaceful in Europe, to take me away from the busyness of London. That being said, I'm not afraid of hard work or getting my hands dirty. I'm eager for a challenge, and to learn some new skills along the way.
Whilst I can be somewhat introverted and shy initially, I'm excited to make new connections and friendships on my Workaway. I feel that I have a lot to learn from everyone, and I am always open to listening to others' perspectives and engaging in conversation. I am hopeful that I can use this opportunity to grow as a person and become a better human being!
I'm particularly interested in working with animals, or on an environmental project. I try to live sustainably, responsibly, and compassionately wherever I can. I feel I could benefit greatly from an experience such as this.

I'm very open to the idea of learning another language. I was always very interested in Languages at school, but I didn't carry it through to adulthood. If I happen to meet someone who is willing to teach me their language, I'd be so grateful for the opportunity :)Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

Having been in the city for the last 4 years studying full-time, my skills are predominantly academic; however, my experience in the hospitality sector has provided me with the ability to:
- Work effectively in a team
- Cope well under a lot of pressure
- Prioritise a number of tasks according to importance and urgency
- Be a leader, and to supervise less-experienced colleagues
- Quickly build rapport with guests, to make them feel welcomed and at ease
I believe that all of these skills are transferrable to a Workaway! I am very keen to put them to use in a different setting, and to learn something new throughout the process.
Whilst my Medical studies are not yet complete, they have taught me to be compassionate; to be an intent listener; and to care immensely about others. For this reason, I can provide care in a lot of ways, whether it be for an elderly person, for children, or for animals. I have many younger cousins, who I am used to being around and caring for. I grew up with lots of pets, too, so I'm very comfortable around animals, especially dogs, cats, and chickens.
I'd also be very comfortable getting involved with tasks such as painting, or basic construction. I am happy to garden, although my knowledge is not very extensive as yet (I would love to learn more!). I'm a keen and capable cook, too, so I'd be delighted to assist with any culinary tasks on my Workaway - especially if it's vegetarian!Age

What else ...
A little more about me: I'm a keen amateur photographer, so you can expect me to bring my camera with me wherever I go. I'd be very happy to take photographs for you if you ever wish! I'm a bit of a bookworm, too, so I will often spend time alone with my Kindle, and would definitely appreciate any recommendations for something to read or a novel to borrow. I really enjoy the occasional trip to the pub to play a board game or cards (I love a game of Racing Demons - I can teach it to you if you don't know it!), so I would appreciate doing this with others too.
Finally, I'd like you to be aware that I am a transgender man and I use he/him pronouns. Unfortunately, my birth name is being displayed on my profile, but please note that I only use the name Sev!Some more information
