  • Description

Hello travelers and hosts! We are Salvador and Miles, two curious and ambitious travelers from California. We are taking our skills to South America for six months, looking to utilize our skills and expand our perspectives in amazing places and form bonds with many new people. Outside of being hardworking and creative, we are friendly people who are excited at the idea of adapting to new places that are far from our norm. Following our graduation at the University of California, Santa Cruz, we are traveling for the workaway experience, as well as connecting with our families in both Chile and Brazil. We are flexible people that are just grateful for the opportunity to contribute in any way, and we would love to participate in a cultural exchange that has a positive impact on the people involved, and the world as a whole!

  • More details about your skills

Salvador and Miles both recently graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz in Science/Environmental departments. Salvador has expertise in environmental sciences, specifically in mycology, ecological interactions and systems theory. He has experience in the ecological field, as well as working in customer service in a culinary mushroom shop in Northern California. Miles' education focused primarily in cognitive studies, with an emphasis in human computer interaction and childcare. Both of us are great with our hands, working in construction environments and working with people. We love anything connecting to art, and love to bring our tastes and perspectives into anything we apply ourselves to. We are both amateur naturalists, and are very enthusiastic about anything relating to being outside and supporting self-sustaining projects. We are also strong and capable young men, happy to put in an honest hard days work. In addition, we love to cook! Cooking for large groups of people and sharing a meal brings us joy, and we believe hospitality can be a great foundation for bringing people together!

  • What else ...

We both love playing any sports, and really love music, especially live music. We go to concerts and music festivals frequently, so music is a big part of who we are. Salvador plays the guitar, and Miles likes to listen to him play. We are also always excited to participate in any kind of board game. We play poker and blackjack occasionally, but are not very into gambling. Salvador loves outdoor sports such as rock climbing, river rafting, and cliff diving. We love to hike, and set out to explore without any particular destination in mind.
