More details about your skills
Hi there! My name is Reby and I am really looking forward to meeting you. My soon to be ten year old daughter and I are embarking on a home schooling abroad adventure for the first part of 2026. I am an avid seeker of community relationships, both in the human sphere and the plant and animal spheres. Because of this, I have picked up a number of valuable skills which I hope to share and expand upon in the wider world with my daughter.
I have had over 20 years experience with land and plant relationship. I would say this is my longest standing and most passionate Art. Through my experience as a landscape designer, permaculture designer, herbalist, and various nature focused experiences, I feel an asset to projects that appreciate productive, beautiful, vibrant and inspiring gardens, landscapes, sacred spaces, and outdoor sanctuaries.
I am a community dweller. For the past 25 years I have lived in five different community settings, remembering what it looks like to live in this beautiful, and sometimes challenging, way with each other. Still learning and eager to experience community outside of my home country..
I love animals of all kinds and seem to have a deep connection with most I meet. I grew up with horses and goats and chickens and have had them off and on throughout my life. Dogs and cats are family members.
I have experience with childcare, both as a mama and a nanny. In my community we aspire to support each other by sharing parenting in order for the children to thrive and also the parents. I am inspired by the Waldorf philosophy and my daughter is enrolled in our local Waldorf school, though taking a year off for travel.
I view life as art!!! I have been involved in various art communities throughout my life. I was an aerial dancer (I still dabble in this, just not as a career), landscape artist (living and interactive art!), attended clown school and worked in different character performances, and I consider myself an avid dancer.
I have danced in many different capacities, and currently consider my dance focus to be contact improvisation. I plan to study flamenco while in Spain. So excited!
Lastly, I am very handy. I learn quickly and have accomplished some amazing things in my lifetime, from building my own home to fixing many a broken thing in order to avoid it being thrown away. I love to take old things and use them to make new beautiful things.
