California, United States - from Apr 2025 until Jul 2025 View allDescription
Hi there! I am a recent UC Santa Barbara graduate with a degree in environmental studies, and am currently working at a historic dairy helping to run environmental education based field trips (and taking care of a few furry friends!) I am my best self when I am in tune with the environment, cycles of nature, creativity/artistry and love learning all that I can about alternative healing practices/methods. I also really enjoy caring for animals and children- as I believe there is a lot to learn from them that otherwise may be overlooked. I have never done a workaway before, but heard about it from my best friend who I will now be traveling in/near California with! After hearing about all of her amazing experiences, I am so excited to embark on a workaway journey :) Overall, I am eager to absorb knowledge from anyone about anything!!!

More details about your skills
I have worked and volunteered for a wide variety of jobs, leading to a diverse skill set or what I like to call "compost pile" of skills.
- Animal care/husbandry (squirrels, opossums, mice, rabbits, goats, mini donkey, dogs, chickens) including handling, wound care, bottle/syringe/tube feeding, meal prep, waste clean up, enrichment, etc. I have volunteered for a wildlife care center, worked pet sitting, have owned many the critter myself, and am currently working with goats and a mini donkey.
- Basic cleaning/maintenance of facilities including bathrooms
- Child care + teaching, I am currently working to teach environmental education lessons to elementary schoolers, but in the past have babysat, done infant care, and have worked at a science museum for children
-Invasive species surveying, I have worked surveying Japanese Beetles and other invasive insects in Sacramento and the Bay Area
- Food prep/ assembling, I worked at Chipotle for two years and understand basic food handling and clean up
- Environmental monitoring and restoration, I was a manager of the Arcade Creek project and monitored tree health along with completing restoration projects. I have volunteered for a variety of native plant gardens/waterway clean ups.
- Water conservation-I worked for a local water district as a conservation representative finding and reporting leaks/ ways to conserve water.Age

What else ...
I love any sort of sports in the water! Water polo, kayaking, swimming, and surfing I am familiar with- but would love to learn to do more!
I also love using recycled materials to create art like collages, but again am always open to exploring more. Some more information
