Hi, I'm Phoebe!

I live in the beautiful green mountains of Vermont, USA where I get to hike, swim, and be outdoors. I just finished my first year of university at Smith College and will be traveling around Europe for a bit with a friend this summer. At school, I am an intended chemistry and Spanish double major that may want to go to medical school. I love to play ultimate frisbee and will be one of the captains for my team next school year! During the last few summers I have worked at a local golf course kitchen cooking and helping with events.

I'm interested in Workaway to continue learning Spanish, meet new people, get outside, and have a unique travel experience. I've been lucky enough to travel to places like Greece, Nicaragua, Iceland, and Peru throughout my life so far, but want to travel in a way that lets me integrate more into the local community while building an international friendship.

I will be traveling with my friend Beth Christensen (profiles linked!) whom I met on the frisbee team this past year at university. We are looking to be in Spain for about two weeks before moving on to other European countries.

I am so excited to connect with a host and begin our friendship. I am happy to set up a time to Zoom or video call. Can't wait to hear from you!

I took a semester off of Spanish and I really want to get back into it! I'd love for someone who's interested in having conversation in Spanish and allowing me to practice my conversational skills. I am happy to also help you practice your English and tell you about my experience of American culture. I have substitute taught in the past, so if there are kids around who want to also practice, that'd be fun.

I really want to get back to nature this summer, so being able to get my hands dirty and enjoy a place where I can enjoy the outdoors is ideal!

I love to be active whether it's hiking, playing ultimate frisbee, or going for a run, I am up for trying new sports and other activities to get me moving. Something I want to learn is dancing.

I love a good puzzle or crossword as a more relaxed activity. I enjoy cooking and am always interested in learning how to make someone else's favorite dish.
