Hello!
My name is Melanie and my nickname is Mel. I'm from Wisconsin, USA. in 2021, I graduated from a local University with a degree in philosophy and am beginning to fulfill my dreams of travel! I'm currently finishing up my second term teaching English to high school students in central Thailand. When the current semester ends, I'm looking to travel and do some volunteer work in Indonesia. I've always thought Indonesia was a beautiful country and I'd like to finally see it for myself!
I love staying active, hiking, camping, going to the gym, meeting new people, exploring cultures and obtaining new skills and knowledge. I want to expand my mind. I'm very hardworking and want to learn how to do a job the proper way, so please teach me!

Teaching English:
I have ample and diverse experience in teaching English, both professionally and as a volunteer!
-I volunteer taught Somali immigrants in my local community for about two years as a teen.
-I worked as a peer writing coach, proof-reading, editing and critiquing college levels papers written by fellow students.
-I later worked specifically in critiquing college papers written for philosophy classes, focusing in on teaching critical thinking and argument formation.
-I obtained a 120 hour TEFL certificate from myTEFL.
-I currently teach English to high school students in Thailand, and offer private tutoring both online and in person to students of all ages. My oldest private student is 29 and my youngest is 3!
Photo and video skills:
My skills here are limited, but I do have some experience with these things as a hobby!
-I regularly make small edits to my photos using Adobe Photoshop.
-I used to edit videos for my personal Youtube channel using Sony Vegas.
While I don't have any experience in gardening or construction, I'd love to pick up these skills!
