  • Description

I’ve been out of college for a year now, i want to use this time before the next stage in my life to explore countries i haven’t been to before. Being from rural wales, the winters get slow and lonely so i thought i’d use this opportunity to meet new people and escape pembrokeshire for a bit. Ive got a good work ethic and i enjoy learning new skills which is particularly handy for working in a variety of jobs with new people. I’m a chatty easy going person so do well when meeting new people as well as working under pressure in a fast pace environment. Trying new things is something i’m particularly passionate about, work wise i’ve been a cleaner, bar man, waitress, barista as well as being a beach lifeguard, so it’s fair to say i like to switch it up. Being around people and exploring new places is what ultimately motivated me, growing up near the coast i’ve always been surrounded by beaches and rural landscapes, so you learn to have fun through exploring new places, one of my favourite things to do is coasteering round our cliffs, can be sketchy but once you know all the spots it’s a lot of fun. I love taking photos and painting in my spare time , i did do this in college but found it took the enjoyment out of it, in the future i would like to peruse this as a career but for now im quite content with bringing a camera places to take creative photos of my friends.

  • More details about your skills

Working in a range of different jobs has given me quite a large handful of skills. I’ve been working in hospitality since i was 13 when i first got a job working in my grandparents cafe making coffees and sandwiches , i was only on 2 pounds an hour but i enjoyed using my free time to help them out. Working in hospitality during the busy tourist season means that i work well under pressure in a fast pace environment. Hospitality requires you to be easy going and approachable, which i like to believe i am, on occasion you have to deal with people that aren’t polite and friendly, this happens more when im working on bar as alcohol is in the mix. You’ve just got to stay level headed and not take anything to heart. I’ve worked at a bar man for two years now, this is probably one of my favourite jobs as i’m constantly chatting to new people, which is one of my strongest qualities. Occasionally i help out as a cleaner for my parents holiday cottages, so i’m very good at cleaning and working with a time limit. As well as doing this i have been a beach lifeguard for two years now, this requires a lot of focus as you’ve got to be constantly vigilant, i worked really hard to get fit enough for the fitness test. When i first started swimming i could only manage three lengths of the pool, but with time and a lot of effort i built this up so when the fitness test came around i could easily do the timed 400m swim. Id like to think i’m a motivated person, once i have a goal i have to meet it. Lifeguarding has built up my social skills massively, although lifeguarding can be very serious a lot of the day is spent talking with other lifeguards, because you are staring at the sea for 8 hours with another person, making conversation is very important. I’ve been told by other lifeguards that i am trustworthy and hard working which i hope you want. :)
