Description
Hello everyone,
My name is Moss and I am a student, gardener, and joyful spirit. My greatest motivation for learning is the natural world that we are apart of. I am learning by doing- how to create resilient communities by deeply understanding resilient ecosystems. The more our lives mimic natural ecosystems, the closer we are to an intentional, beautiful, and sustainable life. I hope to co-create a similarly resilient food system while cultivating strong community focused on health, wellbeing, and interconnectedness. Outside of the garden, you can find me rock and tree climbing- or wandering around barefoot.Interests

More details about your skills
A lot of my life experience center agriculture, community engagement, and teaching. For many years, I worked on large scale production farms. These unsustainable and harmful practices led me down the path of permaculture, agroforestry, and learning through indigenous wisdom of tending to the land. My most recent project has been creating public community gardens on my college's campus, with a co-created vision of me and my coworkers and brought to fruition with the help of student volunteers. This has been the most rewarding job of my life- and continues to lead me down similar paths. This past year, I completed a permaculture design certificate and feel deep gratitude for opportunities to create more living spaces.
I also spent some time teaching young children about homesteading. A majority of our days centered sharing of skills like growing vegetables from seed, caring for livestock animals, preserving of food, etc. Time away from these activities were largely spent cultivating a deep connection with the land- something I think is integral when working with children.
I have had a handful of jobs in the customer service industry as well. Things like waitressing, retail, and independent endeavors like tailoring.Age

What else ...
I love spending time outside and foraging things for food and well as craft-making. Physical activity is integral to who I am and how I live my days.
