Growing up in a multilingual household language always held a special place in my heart. My mother is Taiwanese, my father German. While they talked to us, their three children, in their own mother tongue, they spoke English with one another. In school I studied a few years of French, which have gotten quite rusty, maybe one day I can freshen my knowledge up a bit :D Also I would like to broaden my vocabulary in Mandarin; my active vocabulary feels somewhat limited to me compared to what I am able understand. Regarding new languages, I would love to get some insights in Japanese and Korean! I know German and English well enough to teach others, especially having properly learned each grammar. I studied Mandarin more or less with "learing by doing" so I would say that I could teach that more casually if I was asked to. I reckon that it would be preferable if it was some kind of tandem learning, where my partner has a similar level and we practiced together.

I have had many experiences working with people of all ages. I have been a trainer for climbing and athletics before, as well as rescuing all kinds of different people in a climbing forest. I have worked in a German primary school for a year and as a tutor I have accompanied 5 kids/ teens for several years, reaching from 4 - 17 year olds. I also have experience in publicity work from jobs I have done at my uni (mentoring + holding workshops) as well as during my volunteering at a self-founded citizen council.
Nonetheless I feel perfectly fine working by myself as well. During my studies of biomolecular engineering at uni I have found my way of organizing myself and relying on myself only.
I would say that I am very open to new situations and adapt quickly, even under pressure. I have no problem at all finding my way with new people and am very excited to learn something new with every person I meet. I hope to be able to connect with new people during my stay, but I can do the required work by myself (after having been taught the basics).
Friends describe me as an open, reflected and kind but also funny person that knows how to take responsibility. I hope to live up to that picture, striving to always better myself.
I am very interested in getting to know new ways of living and culture/ community. I always like to take part in new activities and am always up for adventure, as long as I feel safe.

What else ...
1) I enjoy doing sports together! I love playing basketball, badminton or volleyball (not competitively though)
2) Also I really love animals. My family has four dogs (shibas) and five tortoises.
3) Cooking and cleaning up can have a meditative effect on me, but only if there is no time pressure and a long to do list afterwards waiting for me...
4) I adore the game "We are not really strangers", for sure i will take it with me during travels!
5) My favorite color is violet :)
