Hello! My name is Mickey (they/them), and I am a student in Boston, MA. I am looking for some grueling farm work: I want to get my hands dirty! I have so much to learn from the world, and I am ready to go see it for myself. I am hoping to work abroad for a few months.
I am motivated by the beauty of nature. I love the Earth more than I can put into words, and my dream would be to dedicate my life to living sustainably. I am a potter; I began about 6 years ago and I have been teaching classes for 2 years. I would be more than happy to teach wheel throwing. I love art in all its forms, including music. I play the violin and would love to learn more about jazz.
También, hablo Español. Estoy buscando para hablar mas Español que Inglés, si es posible.
Currently I have plans from august-october, but am looking to travel during the months of November and December.
I am up for any type of work, but I am especially excited to learn about permaculture, farming infrastructure, irrigation techniques, and other self-sustaining practices. I would also love to build things: I've always been really interested in woodworking and would love to learn more. I am also an artist, I am always happy to help paint, teach ceramics classes, whatever you'd like!
I am also looking to get certified to teach English en paises hispanoablantes, so if you know of any opportunities around you I would be very interested!
I am vegetarian and love to cook. I would be eager and excited to help out with cooking-related tasks and would love to learn more about what plant-based diets mean to you!
Overall I am excited to travel and engage in different styles of living. I am taking some time off of school after a bad experience, and I am excited for something new.
I love the Earth with everything I have. A main reason I am looking for farm work is so I can reconnect with the Earth and surround myself in nature. I consider myself a fairly spiritual person although I do not practice or align with any organized religions. The Earth is the closest thing I have to a god, and I would be very happy humbly devoting myself to her. The city lifestyle is not for me and I am desperate for something else!
I pride myself in not being picky. I am excited to be challenged by things I can't even anticipate. I am traveling to grow and I sincerely hope it is difficult! I'm not looking for a vacation or a resort, I am looking for a genuine experience no matter what that looks like.Interests
