Description
Hello & Bonjour! I’m Michelle, an adventure loving 35-year-old originally from beautiful British Columbia, Canada. I embrace a nomadic lifestyle, blending work with slow travel, so I’ve had the pleasure of calling many places home - including the city of Montreal in Quebec, Canada, Guadeloupe; an island in the French Caribbean, and most recently Heron Island, a small coral cay located on the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, Australia - among others.
I deeply value human connection and a sense of community, which is why I joined Workaway—to discover unique experiences and have the chance to explore new places along the way!
I am a very creative person and love to channel that into my cooking, baking and painting. Growing up surrounded by the beautiful nature of Canada, I have a huge appreciation for wildlife, nature and the outdoors. I love to be active, and will never pass up an opportunity to go camping, canoeing or for a good hike!
I am fluent in both English and French, and I'm interested in learning Spanish.

My main skillset lies in my love of cooking and baking. I specialize in making delicious and healthy meals of all types of cuisines, using whichever local ingredients are fresh and available. I can adapt to any dietary preferences or restrictions, and hate food waste so I am great at finding ways to use up ingredients. I also have some experience with foraging, because nothing tastes better than a homemade scone with some local berries!
I'm very organized and like keeping a neat and tidy space. I am good with my hands, and won't shy away from a little manual labour, either. I keep myself in good shape and don't mind work that keeps me active.
I absolutely love all types of animals and would also be happy to take care of some furry (or feathered) friends :) Animals tend to find me a calming presence, and more than once I have quickly made friends with 'problem' pets!

I love staying fit and have kickboxed for many years! I want to continue boxing when I can, but also would like to learn some yoga if someone is willing to teach me.
I'm very social and love meeting and talking with new people of all ages and from all walks of life. I'm always up for a simple chat over coffee, a long walk with a deep conversation, or just the occasional board game night!
There's nothing better than being outdoors, and I love hiking, camping and canoeing.
