  • Description

My name is Megan, and I am working as a Fulbright English teaching assistant in Hessen, Germany during the 2025-2026 school year. Through Workaway, I'm hoping to explore new areas and find projects where I can make a difference during my school breaks.

Travel has been a big part of my life (30+ countries so far!), but my most rewarding traveling moments have been when I step beyond the lens of a tourist and instead fully immerse myself by connecting with locals and serving community-identified needs. Some highlights include helping with a coral restoration project in Indonesia, learning about sustainable coffee farming in Costa Rica, volunteering at an after-school program in South Africa, supporting children with migration backgrounds in Germany, and packing food boxes at a pantry in the USA.

I’m a respectful houseguest with experience both hosting exchange students and being one myself. I’m communicative, open to feedback, and genuinely enjoy intercultural dialogue!

In my free time, I love hiking and exploring the outdoors, spending time with my friends, reading, staying active, and learning new languages. I’m happiest when I’m working alongside others, picking up new skills, and doing my part to make the world a better place!
