Hey!
I am Marlene. A big fan of taking opportunities and seeing where they lead. I love being around wholesome people, exploring new places, being out in nature, getting inspired and being creative.

I am studying "Design of Playing and Learning" at an art school in Halle and I am working in a restaurant and different social projects on the side. But whenever it is possible I am seeking out for adventures. Sometimes travelling around Europe and sometimes just by experiencing new and exciting things right in front of my doorstep.

I love getting to know new people and to apply my skills on projects I am excited about. Through workaway I got the chance to do this in the past and I would love to continue in the future!

Hopefully we can realize exciting projects together and share some future memories!

Over the past few years, I have gained a lot of experience working with children. Together, we built little housing structures, realized creative projects, explored topics like the environment and Europe and engaged in hands-on learning. I also led creative workshops and helped organize a holiday program, which allowed me to combine teaching with playful activities. As part of my university course, I’ve designed and planned various projects, gaining valuable insights into creating meaningful experiences for kids. These experiences have taught me a lot and allowed me to spend truly enriching time with children.

In addition, I’ve been working at an outdoor restaurant that hosts cultural events and concerts during the summer. This has strengthened my organizational and interpersonal skills in a dynamic and creative environment.

I also completed a seven-month internship in woodworking, where I developed skills in constructing and designing with wood and learned various techniques that I continue to apply in my creative projects.

Overall, I enjoy working on creative and hands-on projects, especially when collaborating with a team, to bring a shared vision to life. I love trying new things, learning along the way, and applying my skills to new and exciting projects and ideas.

I am interested in alternative ways of living and housing. Life in a community is something I am really interested in! But most importantly I am excited to hear about your stories and get to know your way of living!

Marlene stayed with us for two weeks and was a great helper. She mostly looked after the kids and helped with harvesting and cooking. We had a great time with Marlene. We realized some projects together, which helps us a lot. The exchange with her was exciting. We learned a lot from her and her skills. She helps where possible, she is attentive and very respectful. Our daughter had fun with her. In all it was in asset.
