Looking for opportunities abroad for summer 2025
Preferably short-term positions (2-3 weeks), I have experience in waitressing, caring for animals and children but I love learning new skills !Description
Hi !
I'm Marine, I’m a 23 (almost 24!), coming from France.
I took a gap year in 2023-2024 and travelled across Canada. I arrived in Saskatchewan, then left for Alberta to do some tourism (Banff and Jasper !) and ended my trip in British Columbia. I chose to travel with workaway because I wanted to pick up new skills and meet new people while being a helper.
I had a good level of english to begin with but I became really fluent as I lived with people that didnt speak my native language.
Looking forward to meet you !Interests

More details about your skills
I have a strong ability to adapt quickly and apply practical solutions, making it easy for me to pick up new skills. Before leaving my country, I had absolutely no experience in anything I applied for but it all went super well and I adapted quickly ! I'm very grateful for all the things I get to learn while staying with hosts on workaway!
My workaways experiences mainly implied taking care of animals and children. For my first month in Canada I stayed on a hobby farm with over 250 animals and I loved it. They had a variety of animals which made it even more interesting (horses, rabbits, dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, geese, donkeys, sheep, guinea fowl, peacocks, and alpacas). This experience enabled me to learn more about raising farm animals. I can confidently say that I'm comfortable around all animals, big and small ! I also had the opportunity to do some horseback riding. I rode horses for about 8 years when I was younger, I dont have as much time as I used to now so I'm very grateful for every opportunity I can get to ride horses with workaway.
At the farm I met a girl who lived near Cold Lake (Saskatchewan) and while it was not my original plan I stayed with her for few weeks. I had a wonderful time and I got to learn western horse riding with them (we mainly ride english in France).
Afterwards I wanted to travel to British Columbia so I applied for an au pair position in Squamish. I stayed there for almost 2 months and took care of two wonderful little girls (a 5 year-old and a 7 year-old). I also did some house keeping (cleaning around the house, laundry, picking up the leaves outside…). Squamish was such a beautiful place to stay and it also allowed me to discover my love for taking care of children ! Since then I've done some babysitting in my home country and I love it so much !
My last experience with workaway was last summer, I spent about 2 weeks in a farm with chickens, ducks, horses and pigs (pigs were a first for me !).
Back in my homecountry I study social sciences. I took classes in sociology, psychology, some accounting, economy and law. I'm currently getting a Masters degree.
During my holidays if I'm not travelling I pick up odd jobs to make some money. I mainly have experience as a waitress in different kind of restaurants (from 4* hotels to small restaurants).Age
