(At the moment not a partner account, just Marie is traveling and looking for workaways)
Hey I am Marie, Mary or also called Mausebär by my family:
I moved to Japan in the beginning of 2023 for studying a semester abroad at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. Originally I am from Germany and I study business chemistry with focussing on sustainibility and innovation in Düsseldorf.
I really enjoyed my time in Japan - amazing food (ramen, sashimi, okonomiyaki…), beautiful nature, interesting culture and very kind people.
Of course I love travelling and getting to know new people and different cultures/perspectives.
I would describe myself as an easy-going, curious, motivated person with a big smile.
So many different things make me happy as surfing, sunset watching, scuba diving, learning new skills, trying new food, cooking, animals - especially dogs (I have a dog in Germany), nature, hiking, camping, friends…

Marie:
I already have some experiences with Workaway.
The first time that I tried Workaway was in 2020, when I worked in a kitesurf school in Portugal for six months at the reception. My main tasks were managing the bookings, check in guests and organizing surf/kitesurf/yoga/SUP activities.
I also got several working experiences in different jobs as sales, NGO work, fundraising, management, team leader, babysitting, housekeeping, gardening, postman, marketing and accounting.
My favorite workaway experience so far was in 2022, when I worked for an animal shelter on Tenerife (Canary islands, Spain) for 3 months. I worked together with dogs and cats everyday and I also raise up two little puppies that I had to feed with the bottle. I adopted a dog there (black Labrador mix) and at the moment Simba (the dog) is living with my parents in Germany.
I also gained some experience as a teacher, because when I was 18 years old I moved to Ghana (Westafrica) for one year to work there in a Junior High School and living together with a ghanaian family. This was an amazing experience with many ups and downs.
Other workaway experinece included gardening/maintaining in Japan, housekeeping for an AirBnB in Spain, working in a dog clinic in Thailand and teach English in a school in Cambodia.
I really appreciate the platform Workaway, because it is a great opportunity to get in contact with locals and get to know different kind of people and jobs.
It is really simple for me to start new projects, because I am curios, motivated, a quick learner and good listener. In general I would say that I am flexible, active and open minded.Age
