    [UPDATE: March 2024 on..]
Lydia and I met in Bonn while travelling in 2019, we traveled and lived together as a couple since then. After working and a master's four years in Germany (and a bit of Austria), we are ready to travel again :)

We are mostly looking for outdoor, craft, woodworking, or gardening projects which allow exploring on foot / bicycle (we don't have). We are very tired of living in big cities :)
It has been years since we've been around kids and miss their cuteness, so that's also a plus :) We are REALLY excited to be in an Italian-speaking workaway. (Marcello-native, Lydia-B1 or sometimes B2). Spanish would also be great (Marcello-native, Lydia C1).

Please note we hardly ever drink alcohol and are vegetarians.

    About Lydia:
Hi/hola all/todos!!! One of the primary reasons I am doing Workaway is to learn about other cultures, see different parts of the world, and practice languages. I speak near fluent Spanish after extensive travel and study in Perú and Spain, and kann mal sprechen auf Deutsch. I'm enthusiastic to communicate with you, happy to speak with hands and unafraid to ask questions about the work. I am very open-minded and am traveling to feast my eyes on the world! I am a geographer and love to explore new landscapes and meet new people. I hope to be in a home that is also open-minded and hopefully we can learn from each other. I love to have fun and love talking to people but can be a little shy at first, and I do enjoy some peaceful time to myself :) I come from a neat home, so I am familiar with keeping my area of the house/bungalow/apartment/whatever we decide neat and clean. I like to try all sorts of foods, but prefer a diet of healthy foods (lean meats, vegetables, fruits :), etc., but I'm very flexible. I'm athletic- I love sports and being outside! I hope we can meet :) I have done workaway before to great success and cannot wait to host others when I begin to settle down.

    About Marcello:
    [UPDATE: 22-07-2020]
-I'm helping out a wonderful couple finishing their house in Cabañas de Sayago, Zamora (Spain)
---here thanks to Purificación, I discovered the benefits of yoga and meditation, I am into both now!

    [UPDATE: 11-03-2020]
-Currently I am living in Germany and studying German, I have been volunteering in a bar/hotel/hostel in the German city of Bonn since 14-11-2019 .

    [About my self]
I've always had a passion for the outdoors and exploration. Despite my previous career in programming, I decided to pursue a more flexible lifestyle. From July to August 2018, I participated in a volunteering project in Turkey, where I assisted with turtle conservation and environmental education for local communities. Interacting with volunteers from across Europe was enriching, and we collaborated on several projects. Weekends were spent exploring Turkey's natural wonders like Pamukkale, Göreme, and Istanbul.

Platforms like Workaway have provided me with opportunities for personal growth and discovery in alternative lifestyles.

Thank you for your attention, and I'll keep you posted on further developments.

  • More details about your skills

I have developed, above all, excellent interpersonal skills. In fact, I have no problem entering new environments and facing new challenges; on the contrary, these situations are motivating for me.
I was born in Venezuela, but grew up in Italy, so I am both a Spanish and Italian native speaker, but I also speak English well.
I am physically fit and ready to help with manual labor, such as taking care of the garden and the vegetable garden or doing household cleaning.
I get along very well with children, so, if necessary, I would be very happy to take care of them.
I studied classical guitar for four years, acquiring solid foundations, which I could teach to those who would like to learn how to play it.
I have a general knowledge of computers, since I graduated in Computer Engineering at the University of Padua (Northern Italy).
Although in some fields, such as DIY, I have no specific skills, I am confident that I can acquire them quickly enough, since I am a guy who learns quickly.
I can cook some nice italian plates and I would love to share them with others and to learn more recipes!
