Hello!

I'm a first time Workawayer from Tartu, Estonia. I studied mathematics in Tartu university for 3 years, but through covid lockdowns and health issues decided that that was not the field for me. Now I'm taking time to rest and see the world before I go back to school again.

During my studies I worked at Looming hostel, first as a receptionists and now I'm the manager. Our hostel Workaway host, which means that during my 3 years here I've welcomed a lot of wonderful volunteers. Them coming to my small home-town and showing so my enthusiasm and interest in Estonia has made me appreciate the small everyday things. Their stories have made me want to try out this way of traveling for myself.

I'm a logical and organized person (hence going to study mathematics). I love learning about history and culture, traveling is a great way to do that, which is why I also love that :) My other hobbies are playing the viola, singing in a choir doing almost every arts and craft project imaginable. As an Estonian I also have a deep appreciation of nature. I won't be climbing a mountain or spending a rainy week in a tent any time soon, but I do love a good medium difficulty hike or just existing in nature.

As a hostel manager I've learned how to manage a team, solve the more difficult situations with problematic customers, plan necessary renovations and improvements, create pricing strategies and communicate with collaborators outside of the hostel.
Outside my manager life I can also cook, for just myself or for 30 people, doesn't matter. I also know how to sew, knit, crotchet and embroider, which means I can fix or create (or at least give a good try at) new garments, decorations or almost anything to do with textiles.
